I have to wonder about the timing of W. Mark Felt's revelation that he is the (in)famous Deep Throat of Watergate fame. Either he is old and wanted to savor his legacy before he dies, or he knows there is at least one 'deep throat two' who is holding secret the crimes that dubya has perpetrated upon the world in general and the American people in particular. I deeply believe the latter.

Mr Felt never made a dime of money from the watergate scandal that brought Nixon down shortly after he won a re-election victory over a war hero, Senator George McGovern in 1972.(see the parallels with dubya and Kerry?) I hope his coming out of the closet will enspire a similar person with first hand knowlege of Bush jr's crimes to come forward and put a stop to the nonsense that is going on today. Watch dubya's new attorney general issue an arrest warrant in the next few days to bust this old man in the hopes of containing the damage that is sure to come.

Perhaps it's only wishful thinking because I despise the man so much, but I sincerely hope this is the beginning of the end for dubya's reign of terror.

I'm sorry, but I laughed my ass off all day listening to the radio/tv news in the background at work hearing nothing but the words deep throat.

seems his motive in coming forward
is to cash in
at his family's urging.
interesting issue you bring up rodg-
not the bush nonsense
but rather the question of
does this man owe a 'debt to society'
for breaking its' laws
or does he deserve a pardon and a reward ?
i favor the later, of course
as i loathed nixon.
but the law is the law.
one really should not make exceptions after the fact
just because we like the result of the crime.

"just because we like the result of the crime"

Actually, under US law it's a crime NOT to report a felony that you have knowledge of.

Felt correctly surmised that Kleindienst would do nothing if presented with the evidence, so he took the path he knew would get the information to the public. He's an American hero. Besides, I believe the statute of limitations has expired, but I may be wrong on that.

i think reagan pardoned him in 1981(?)

"Felt was convicted in the 1970s for authorizing illegal break-ins at homes of people associated with the radical Weather Underground. He was pardoned by President Reagan in 1981." - above article

ah, statute of limitations just might apply.
depends on the actual crime charged.
i doubt even bush has the cajones to
arrest a 91 yr old pop hero/

Pardons only apply to specifically listed crimes, they could still hang his ass. Since he didn't officially report said crimes @ the time & had knowledge, he is a party to them as in conspiracy (same as doing said crime). He may have waited out the limitations for those specific crimes on legal advice. Probably a book deal... I believe Tricky Dick was a republican, doubt prosecution under current administration.

LOL
Visiting mom out of state while I had my cast on a couple of months ago, she dragged out the old photo albums for the current mrs rabbit to see. I got married the first time in 1972 in a huge church wedding. I LMAO'd to see those old pictures. Every guy in the wedding under age 30 had shoulder length or longer hair with a polyester leisure suit, and patent leather shoes on. I wore a tux, but mrs rabbit got a kick out of seeing me with a pony tail half way to my waist. Yea, you had to be there.

I always assumed since we talk through our throat, and 'deep throat' had 'deep' knowledge of what was going on, it was a perfect match.

Who remembers linda lovelace's other movie? hip?
