Does anyone know the general methods for switching young plants from cool floro to metal halide. Should the metal halide be hung pretty high so that the plants get used to the more intense spectrum and heat? Then gradually move the lights closer? A FOAF just switched a couple plants and he hung the light(400watt) about a ft. from the plants said that a few of the new leaves on top are curling upward. Does anyone have any indoor growing experience? He rehung the lights so that they are about 2 and a half to 3 feet above.

A question about Floros and Metal Halide

i would gradually go from 2 1/2 feet down to 1 foot. the leaves may be curling up due to heat. if it is hot on your hand after holding it next to the plant for a minute, then it is too hot for the plant.
you have adequate ventilation?

Flouros to MH? Weird. But yea, just start it high and slowly move it down 1/2 a foot per day until you get about 1 ft away from the tops of the colas (assuming its cannabis).
