To figure dosage, divide the number of ml. in the jar by the number of grams used in the extract ..In this case 125ml divided by the 40g dry ..With the efficiency at 80% , that means only 32 of the 40 grams are converted to usable dosing..

so 125ml divided by 32g = 4ml per gram..

Any hoo , it comes out to 1 and quarter teaspoons per gram pretty much...

By that math, one could theoretically try 62 grams to get more or less one gram per teaspoon (2.5mL). 80% of 62 is around 50, which would give you around 1 gm / mL. Would make things slightly simpler for dosing...

Do you think that much material could be extracted using the same principles? I'd guess it's really just dependent on being able to evap it down far enough without destroying any more of the good stuff...

I don't recommend using fresh mushrooms for anything that is going to be stored for too long. Anything over a day or 2 and the potency is terrible. I guess if you handled it like rocket fuel, then you would be a lot better off. Dry mushrooms are really the way to go with teas, juices and stuff like this more than likely. The problem with fresh fungus is that it oxidizes to damn easy and is vulnerable to heat.

friends waited a week before taking the mushy jello made from freshies and they said it was extremely potent...although i wouldn't put it past a week storage anyway...

I really don't know an exact time limit on it, but my brother made some from fresh mushrooms and then drank it around a week or so after making it and nothing happened at all. It was a big ass pile of mushrooms too.

Yeah with tea, i can tell the difference after 48hrs..

This new experiment may help shed more light on the reason for potency retention or loss..
Also going to try this extract Tek for kratom too, i think it would make a fine concentrate.

If only it could tame the cactus , heh I guess that's too much to ask...

Thanx...
I put the honey jar thru the freeze/thaw test and the texture remains the same, so it's good to freeze..

Pictured below is the P. Ovoids extract [left] next to the Cubensis..
The Cube jar is much darker and the taste is not quite as good..
I would recommend the finest filtration possible to get the cleanest results..

Tried a larger dose and has good potency with no signs of bluing...
All that sweetness needs to be spread on a muffin or something..

Trich has been a nasty mold this year, a trich competition would be a hot race....

You haven't heard much from us in the last 6 months or so for this very reason - we had to abort all work on the Falbinos and homemade spore prints - due to being inundated with trich. It's in the frige, in the expresso ground knockbox, it's absolutely everywhere.:eusa_wall:eusa_wall:eusa_wall

I made me a jar full of this recipe a few days ago and finally got a chance to taste it, and I'd say it's definitely the state of the art for preserving magic in honey...

With this and chocolates, jello, alcohol extracts, apple butter (great idea), and other things I'm no doubt forgetting, we now have the ability to create the greatest gourmet-sampler holiday gift baskets the world has ever seen.

Heat mainly speeds up chemical reactions. In this case, oxidation. Boiled water is free of oxygen. So if there's no exposure to oxygen while the magic is hot (but not too hot), it won't degrade until it reaches a high enough temp. capable of destroying the molecules directly.

Glad you tried it guys..!
I've been wondering what the maximum concentration one could achieve..

Like 100g more finely chopped into the quart of water ,using more acid, a finer filter
cloth that could be pressed with out rupturing..

The finer filtration would give a cleaner honey and with a 100g equivalent in a quarter pint jar ..That'd b pretty sweet...

Nice Golly!
One way to increase potency would be to use less honey .

I thought psilocybin begins to break down at 105 F. It seems like heating the mush on the stove without monitoring the heat would be a bit of a gamble with your overall potencty.

thinking about this - using dried mushrooms only psilocin is left - which is pretty stable right? hence this is a psilocin extraction - heating it wouldnt wreck too much :)

Other way around... Psilocybin is the more stable form that's left in dried mushrooms.
