This has got to be one of the most fascinating aspects of mycology.
I would rate it as entertaining as the fruiting process.
I really love the shape and whorls that the mycelium takes on as one isolates it further and further selecting out the rhizomorphic growth.
It's also great to see the occasional fruiting from agar.
Hope you enjoy these pics as much as I enjoy the real deal.

I also love the agar work. It's just so freakin awesome to decide what myc makes the "cut" so to speak.
