After 4 months my reishi started pinning. I was beginning to lose hope.

Very nice!
Been watching all these threads of yours and was wondering what was happening with this project.
Mine are just now fruiting too so we're on the same timeline
Just different methods.

I'm pretty sure they're Shiitake. Nice regardless.

I thought those looked familiar!!! LOL!!!
I just don't know enough about gourmets yet to make a statement like that.
I do believe you're right though.
The Reishi that I have display a distinctively orange color.
Where the Shiitake I've grown get that dusky, dirty brown look to them.

Definitely not reishi. They're Shiitake.

I would say that a win is a win.
Shiitake are mighty tasty!!
Especially fresh ones!

The substrate for growing either species is universal.
You've got a good fruiting platform if that's what you're worried about.

fuck! my culture from sporeworks says reishi ling chi. Pretty disappointing....
