Outside B+ Monotub ~ Mycrotopia WBS and Donkey Doo
Posted 01 August 2008 - 07:35 PM
Colonized over a 2 week period of time.
Then cased with dry straw so it could be watered.
Pinned 5 days later.
B+ fruits were picked as they matured, to allow for a more continuous flushing of the substrate.
This is an outdoor monotub of about 2.5 inches substrate depth, kept inside a shed, so watering occurred when no condensation appeared on sides or lid.

I'm building some deeper, donkey doo tubs here shortly, I really like these tubs for outdoors.
The donkey doo is one quick colonizer as far as poo substrates I've experimented with.
But, I noticed a gnat problem in the tub when harvesting some fruits. Will they be a burden, or should I let them be? They aren't destroying any fruitbodies so far, but I still don't like them flying around in there.

Oh, I didn't put up pics of the tub when building. I'll load those in a minute.

Very nice, Freaky!
I do love the B+...such a giver...
And throw a sticky trap/fly paper in there. Let those damned gnats make/find their own magic!

Here are a couple more pics.
Its got a bad green spot, I'm pretty sad about that. No doubt it came from the straw on top :( Oh well, maybe it'll throw a few more before I toss it out.
