Oh no Cafro, the results are the same. You can use wbs, popcorn or brf with this method (maybe others too, I've only tried the these). I prefer wbs over popcorn due to nutritional value, over brf for ease of working with, and over both for $/volume.
Just keep the substrate/verm or coir ratio equal; if one tried brf they might goof and do up some PF mix and then mix in more verm! I'd be using a 2:1:1 food/verm/coir mix if I had the coir. Keep in mind I like to moisten and then PC my verm/coir 30 min and cool before using.
I prep/spawn my popcorn EXACTLY the same as my wbs. I've only had one substrate material in a mix at a time...I haven't cross-spawned since a bad exp with brf-popcorn; colonized fast but the cakes died horribly soon after...leftover predjudice.
If you enjoy popcorn, get a soda and enjoy! :)

i think brf/verm is easier than any other substrate
esp. in bags where large amounts are easily handled
