Invitro Palenque on Compost
Posted 25 August 2008 - 11:46 PM
the spawn run was 5 days, some 6 days, so 5 days to baby pins, 6 days on some.
i think maturity will be reached in another 7 - 9 days, palenque's seem to be at this stage for almost a week. if you recall my "invitro palenque on coir" thread, they were like this for like 9-10 days. You can always find that thread to compare rate of growth, this is on compost now, and it loves it! still awaiting zoodoo, and hpoo/straw grows to finish, just got the hpoo/straw set out yesterday or the day before, and the doublestuffed zoodoo bags are in day 2 of spawn run, i suspect those bags will take an extra two or three days to finish their spawn run, to make a general comparison between all 3. I won't be using wormcastings in the future, I do not like them and hopefully using coir is a thing of the past.

all 22 bags look the same.
While this looks great, it's by far done spitting up babies, this is only the second day of noticeable pins, we're looking at another 5 or 6 days of it doing this, before maturing starts. SO IM STOKED!
While the compost bags are impressive, I am more eager to see what the hpoo/straw bags do, as they are so rhizomorphic, it's insane, and then the doublestuffed zoodoo bags have peaked my interest even more!

This is the compost bags with palenque, and palenque seems to be a very predictable strain, it colonizes VERy fast, spawn runs are SUPER fast, bags can sit out maybe 3 or 4 days and they are hyphally knotting, they have hundreds of pins, if not thousands, they do take a few extra days to mature, but that's because of the sheer numbers. They all bruise heavily, even moreso this time coming off of the compost. I am very pleased with the results thus far. I have 5 of these bags that are behind the others, which is fine, they'll just flush a few days later, giving me a boost of printing materials, while awaiting the 50/50 grow to complete, and the zoodoo grow to begin.
I have mega updates for each grow that's active right now.

nice bags, fella
I apologize we've kinda dropped off, we'll be updating all of the threads in a day or two, things have just been really really busy and have had no time to be online, we've got 2 dro hash threads, and all of these threads to update, it's going to take time as we've got to get all the pictures organized and everything typed out!
We'll be updating everything to "back on track" here real soon, spoiler: 50/50manure/wheat straw wins the race! Does bigger sub really mean better shrooms? YES!!!
anyhow, more to come!
