They aren't stellar in size but are extremely potent according to my husband and his friend. I will have to be my own guinea pig to be 4 sure though ;)
These are the links to the pics from March.

Damn, I'm glad it worked out lol. I keep it on a piece of plywood and slide it in and out from under the deck. I pick from it in the morning and at night lol. Its going well. Next spring I'll get the present kiddie pool in use and build spawn for it all winter lol. I think the straw on top is what is really helping though the spiders freak me out a little when I reach in lol. I'm also going to cut some larger holes in the bottom to help it drain better. I have been watering the hell out of it. I hope it can go all summer, that would be great. I didn't expect it to really do much of anything anyway. Just all in the name of fun!
Keep in mind. His was indoors. He had mad trich from using a tarp over it. Geeze! LOL! I'd be willing to bet he's still got mad trich probs from that rig! That's the way to do it. The way your doing I mean. LOL! Certainly not the way he did it. :D

In the first picture here: http://www.mycotopia...tachmentid=4803
I had my old kiddie pool, dirty with some debris in it like leaves and twigs, etc.
I had a few jars of leftover past. straw and manure that had a lot of lime in the jars with them. I had a bulk sub that had contamed, a tub of outdoor leftovers in another container. I only used the black planter full of old casings and contamed stuff. I also had some poo and wet straw that needed a purpose and I had a couple old straw bales in the garage that I used. There was also a contamed spawn poo run in the tupperware. There were at least a mix of 5 different strains, maybe more. Pretty much as much spawn as I could find and poo straw to mix it with to fill the pool half way. To fill the whole thing would take a lot. I suggest poking some drainage holes in the bottom plastic.
The second pic is of the mix. http://www.mycotopia...tachmentid=4804
I just dumped it in and mixed it up best I could. There was also a potting soil mix that was in the one planter used. I would say avoid this. I have inky caps growing in there too and they are annoying. I can recognize em quick now and pull them fast but I would suggest avoiding potting soil unless you past. it. I did mix regular soil with it also. A lot of poo and old straw logs. I didn't measure anything. Just built it and mixed it up.
The third picture is:

This is the already wet past. chopped straw I had that I didn't use when I should of. It had a lot of lime in it. It was probably a week and a half past pastuerization. So I layed the chopped straw right on top. Then I took the dry straw from the garage and spread it over the top to protect it. I put about 2-3 inches of dry straw on top of it. It was march when I made it, and it even made it through a freak snow storm. It got really cold some nights. I didn't water too much during this time. Maybe once a week watering.
I also put it on a piece of plywood so I could slide it out from under the deck.
It faces the west so the sun is brutal. I think a cover could work on this as long as the air can flow good. So for the past 6 weeks or so I've been watering it like 2-3 times a day. If it rains well I wait a day or two to water again. I would check it too, lifting that top layer of dry straw to look under. When I saw the first fruits from the photos above I decided to remove the top layer of straw, leaving a little, where any mycellium was showing.
Its been fruiting for a week now. Outdoors is a lot of fun.
I know the fruits aren't impressive, but the fact the pool provided makes me happy and want to make it better. Or see a real pro make mine look silly :) I didn't-*****- kitty got on keyboar and is bitng my hands. So, I was typing, I didn't do anything special. I wasn't worried about being clean or anything. It was just outdoor gardening to me. And since it was stuff that was trashed anyway it wasn't really a loss. A new try will happen for sure next spring without old stuff :D
Some shots from tonight. Damn slug crawled in there. I squared the pins cuz I had to resize.
