I have a full incubator of amazonian going to be tubs too! That log to come soon!
this tubs length is half as wide as my queen size bed i not a few inches more. I suspect it will be about 4 or 5 more days until I apply a casing layer.
You guys are going to be like 'wtf limeade!?' when i do my casing layer.

dude you and the wifey got excellent blue thumbs:thumbup:
Thanks,
I apologize we've kinda dropped off, we'll be updating all of the threads in a day or two, things have just been really really busy and have had no time to be online, we've got 2 dro hash threads, and all of these threads to update, it's going to take time as we've got to get all the pictures organized and everything typed out!
We'll be updating everything to "back on track" here real soon, spoiler: 50/50manure/wheat straw wins the race! Does bigger sub really mean better shrooms? YES!!!
anyhow, more to come!
oh and this tub, wn't be cased, it start pinning before i could get a casing layer on, well, not PINS but hyphal knots.

why so many ph balance's?
I think you are referring to my post above, and, now that I think about it, it probably is overkill, since the material will be fully colonized. It was a minor amount of lime and repti-sand. I like to put gypsum in everything, though.

one question, are there any substitutes for coconut coir you could think of off the top of your head? Would peat work as well?

the coir is being used as a bulk sub, but i bet wheatstraw, or even something similar would work, of course manure would!
but yeah i dont know about that one maybe someone else could answer that, peat is more of casing layer thing isn't it?

I do have some left over critter country i could soak and mix in along with the castings, as i do not really have a ready supply of raw straw to use.
Maybe also a portion of verm?
Thanks for the advice.
