Big plastic tub w/ the rope handles. Leave the baskets intact. My friend turns them upside down and pushes them under the water until the bubbles stop coming out. At that point, they seem to submerge themselves without any added weight. Then they are set in a bathtub to drain (through the holes in the bottom of the basket).
My friend is still working out the kinks. The first dunk (prior to the second flush was very successful); however, the baskets seemed to get oversaturated after the second dunk and contammed during the third flush. The first thing that comes to mind is more and bigger holes in the bottom and a longer drain time prior to going back into the clear bags.

Appreciate all the info, I think Im going to give one of these bad boys a try this week... have a bunch of straw laying around anyway ..iy
Last question for you, are you casing the basket at the time of spawning? Or allowing it to colonize, then case and wait for the casing to colonize?
From the looks of it, it seems as if your casing immediately ...

Those blue-green ones were cased very close to the beginning. You could do it later and should be fine too. My friend likes to do it early, because it keeps the top of the straw layer from drying out. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Will do, and thanks again for the info.
I prefer to have a layer of something over the top of straw as well I put a layer of coir over the top of a different tub at the time of spawning for that purpose.
Thumbs up on the great grow :headbang:
