Half of the jars are completely colonized.will have pics tomorrow.couldnt get the horse-poo so i thought about this.my friend has straw and wormcastings,so hes going to mix some of both together put it in a pillow case then stick it in 160degree water for an hour then let it drain.Do you think this will work to mix with my WBS?

U can do it that way but you will have a good part of the castings draining out with the water..
I would pasteurize the straw/castings separately, then mix the two..You only need enough W poo to lightly coat the straw..

i went ahead and done it together.only half the jars were ready,so he made two casings out of them.straw-wormcastings were put in them about 2 inches thick then about 5 half pints of wbs.tomorrow will be getting horse poo to use with the rest of the wbs.heres a couple pics of the wbs thats almost ready and the 2 small tubs.

Yeah, give it a nice little casing layer in a couple days.
Not too thick tho.

I like verm or coir. Or a combo of the two. Cactus soil works well also. good luck:rasta:

A few pics from today.I think they are almost ready.Would you go ahead and add a top layer or wait a few more days? For the most most it is fully colonized except some pieces of straw sticking up.

Pans usually take about a week to start fruiting post casing.

Here are a couple pics from today.I see no pins as of yet but i do have a lonely shroom thats poped up.My first pan shroom. The only thing that scares me is the yellow spots on the casing. It looks like some kind of cotam to me.Can anyone tell me what the yellow spots are?
