It's a bunch of images since it's an 'instructable.'

It would certainly be preferable to actually build an alcohol stove and post a how-to here directly than to link to someone else's, but sometimes the info provided by sites like that is really useful, so I'm wondering how we should handle these things in general. It's not technically an off-site image link, but has the same chance of becoming a dead link as images hosted off-site though it might be problematic to copy it all here. :eusa_thin

If there is enough interest I could build my own and offer directions OR simply email the author for permission to use his work on our site...

It'd be cool if you built one myco-style, and posted pics&tek.

Wouldn't this burn at a low temperature since its ethanol/isopropanol?

Well, 'burning at a low temperature' is relative. It's certainly hot enough to kill potential contaminants on a needle or scalpel; sterilizing tools over alcohol lamps is still a common practice in microbiology.

introSuper Thin Alcohol fueled stove

This is a super thin alcohol fueled stove that can fit in your pocket. With it filled to the top, it burns for about 20 min., or enough to boil half a gallon of soup for 3 people. :)

step 1Get The Materials.

All you need is:

A soda can
Sauce can top

A pair of scissors or a razor.....

Cut the can on the brown line.

Here's a site with a bunch of designs, some simple and some very complex and elegant. Pick whichever seems to best fit your situation or available materials and never pay retail again!

That'a a cool site and will be bookmarked for future referance but the builds there are more for cooking soup rather than heating up a needle. That's what I call a ghetto lamp Coytemesc  Going to give that one a go because it so damn simple.

Thanks for putting it up though. I am sure it will help someone out who is currently using regular lighters to get their needles clean
