No matter what system you use, squeezing and rolling the stems between your fingers gently until they split open will speed things up a lot. I found that if I'm careful and don't let the split run all the way to the base, they will shrink up as they dry and in most cases you can't even tell they've been split.
I noticed how the outside of the stem would feel very dry, but after 12 hours in my box of silica gel they felt moist again. Turns out the outside was dry, but it shrinks and forms a seal as it dries that slows down evaporation from deeper inside, then when they're no longer in front of a fan that internal moisture slowly wicks out. Splitting the stems prevents that and cuts my drying time in half.

i know exactly what you mean.
like when i dry my nugs they will feel nice and crisp so ill put them in my jar and when i take em out to smoke they are moist again, hehehehe
i put em in paper bags to take out the moisture
HELL ya tv that make sooooooooo much more sence
thats about the best drying recomendation ive yet to hear
