Thank You ethno, they do look different that's for sure.I would love to see a pic of the mycelium.Crossing my fingers for you....Well done Doctor!:thumbup:
I've been waiting to see this. They look wicked!:amazed:
Not sure if anything will happen with mine. It's in a bit of lawn at the edge of garden by veg patch, separated by a log on edge of veg patch.
I looked under the overhanging grass on the veg side of the log today though and found some myc working its way around in there. Its not growing on the wood though, it's coming through the soil and getting around the shaded grass roots. Not much of it but very white and cottony, I'll try and get a pic 2moro.
Could it be????:eusa_thin

I've tried the same idea a few times over the years with no success. These little buggers are a little mysterious but I guess that lends to the mystique.
Those pictures make me shiver.
When your out hunting and you come across a group of them it always makes my heart race with excitement. A little foreshadowing of their power maybe. All you have to do is look at them and you get a reaction.
Again nice work.
Fly on..

My patch has some nice new pins, and a couple mushrooms on it,not as many as the last time though.I took some pics, mainly of a nice cluster of pins that is there.I went back just recently to take a couple more pics, and I also took a tiny piece of grass/soil that was colonized and had a couple of very tiny pins on it.I took it home and placed it in my yard under a shrub.
We will see if it stays alive long enough for these couple of pins to mature.I watered the area around it with some poo water I had,and covered it over with some leaves for shade.I will check it out in the morning.I may spread a bit of sheep manure in a bit.For now here are some of the pics from my patch.
The first 10 pics are from early this morning. The last few pics are of the piece I took home and recent pics,I plan to go back up later on this evening and get a few more pics,I plan to photograph this cluster as it grows,if it grows.

It is spilling rain out right now,but I ran out and snapped a few pics. They have started to recover and are starting to grow.I am hoping these open right up within the next day or so and drop there spores. Here are a few pics from today and a couple from a few day's ago.I would like to get out today and get a few more if the rain stops.

The weather has been horrible the past few weeks too, well too shitty for me to go out mushroom hunting.Rain cold rain cold and more rain, the mushrooms loved it though.
I got to the field late, but within ten minutes I spotted my first patch, sweet.I dropped my bag off my back, pulled out my container and my camera only to find my camera battery was more then half dead, bummer but at least I got a few pictures today.
I searched the field for about an hour, filled my container as full as I could stuff it,and got out of there.I am hoping to get back there next week with a fully charged battery.
I got a few nice sized ones today, they just soaked up all that water we got the past few weeks.
Here are some of the pictures I was able to get today before the camera died on me.

The last pic shows the size of some of the tall ones compared to the shorter ones.If you want tall semis with big caps, look in the tall grass,if you want small short ones, look in the shorter manicured grass. It is not really any harder to search the tall grasses, they tend to grow right up through it....
