Great pictures, How long does it take for a normal peyote to mature?

How much time is saved by cloning onto a faster growing plant?

A peyotl take at least 10+ years to mature in nature. Possibly 20+ depending on conditions.. In cultivation its possible in 5+.. On a graft it can be done in a year or two..

I'm curious, how does this work? They graft young peyote buttons onto another plant, does it make the peyote grow and mature faster? If so, that is amazing and could really help the species because people won't be raping the earth to get them irresponsibly.

I agree with you mwillis! not only is grafting a good technique to increase production and yield but also diversity!

Thank you for the pix of the forest! great inspiration.

nun-i have heard that grafted peyotl will develop in size at a greater rate than a non-grafted but maybe not necessarily so in potency. in your experience do you find any truth to this?

As for potency I'm not exactly sure yet. Theres about an ounce dried and powdered but havent had the opportunity to try it yet. On a cannabis culture mag article this dude states that peyotl pups that form from grafting to san pedro are super potent. There seems to be conflicting reports on this subject though. I think it depends on age more than anything but I could be wrong. I'll start a storming the gates thread as soon as I can try out my peyotl powder.

The only place I've seen pereskiopsis is one an online auction site once in a while..

To top peyotl you simply slice the top 20% or so off.. You want to make sure that the grow point isn't intact in any way.. If it is just cut a slice a little further down.. In a few weeks heads will pop out all over.. Pretty soon I'll start a thread on the subject with an easy to follow tek..
