Some chick asks my buddy if he parties. He had know idea that means something other than , well, just having a good time... ( either did I).
Apparantly, that means that you do blow, we found out later.
Well, are there any other cool hip terms for identifying like minded indviduals that I should be aware of...
Please bring me into the new millenium.

Next time your stepson's friend calls you B, you ought to say "Why don't you step out in the yard with me and we'll see who is whose B." That would piss me right off. Although I imagine he probably does it more out of habit than disrespect.
This was a funny thread to read today, b/c I just had a girl text message me last Thursday asking if I wanted to party, which to me means alcohol and/or coke + sex. She's a notorious cock tease so I didn't take her up on the offer.
www.urbandictionary.com is your friend.

SICK used to mean well you know... puke, gag, ill, etc.
Now days SICK means just the opposite... cool, awesome, sweet, etc.
By "nowadays" you mean since 1990 or so, right? ;)
I think another warning that we're getting old is when we no longer have any idea how to shake someone's hand. I keep trying to remember which damned secret handshake the hipsters are using this week... and I always seem to guess wrong.

But it doesn't help at all when one of my friend's moms is yelling at me because I'm stoned but don't know what she means when she says "Smoke more dope."
Us kids aren't the only ones that have confusing slang. =P
Also: To my friends and I, "Partying" is doing anything. As far as we're concerned, even if we go to smoke a spliff alone, we call it partying. Hell, when we go to hang out totally sober, we call it partying. Just differs from who you talk to.
TVCasualty: Don't worry. I'm nineteen and I still can't figure out all the fuckin' handshakes. It gets awkward when you go to shake someone who is slightly older than you but acts like a kid a bit... Yeah, it gets really convoluted from here.

"wuzzup?" could substitute for "whats happening?" if you asked it with a question.
so then you could respond, "nothin', you know, jus' chillin', hangin' in there, same ol' f-ed up, hammered, blazed, stupid, stoned...." or a combination
"wazzup man?"
"same ol' sh** you know, got f-ed up stupid on super dank chron, slammed 40's an' got hammered, fool" - gotta throw a fool in there depending on who your talkin to and how drunk each person is.

what is a cabbie, heamy and these flakes?
Agreed.
Plus, I was once spending some quality time with a woman who turned out to be a crack whore. I wanted to get some pot, and we almost needed an interpreter to make it happen. It did happen, after I bought her some crack- but I nearly ended up with some (nearly) useless crank (methamphetamine) along the way.
In short, don't be afraid to say "hey, um, what?". They'll laugh at you, but they'll spell it out for the old guy.
Edit
anyone care for some stumble cookies?

Once upon a time, a "lid" was a ounce. Nowadays, who knows? But I'd probably still buy it.

I saw that in Cheech and Chong too and was also wondering what it meant. My guess would be that a "lid" would have been a mason jar filled to the lid? From watching that movie i know it is definately way more than a quarter.
