hello
made a new thread but this the full story started whit this tread:
http://mycotopia.net...ig-dumbass.html
I did a worm casting , coco, verm tub spawn was popcorn ...
all was good , today opened the tub to wipe excess moisture when i was cleaning i saw guess what ?
PINS hurray!!! it is day 19 and she is full colonized and pinning i am so happy , lest see if i dont screw the tub ...
I toked the tub of incubation chamber and put it whit 24 h light .
I´m afraid is too cold for them know...can you tell me what is the ideal temp to fruit the tub ? please need some help it is my 3 attempt ...and so far zero shrooms for me dont want to f"$ck this baby up......
Should i fan ? please need input
here are some photos :
Plur to all of you and stay safe
(couldnt resist ; :dance:PIN DANCE  EHEHE)
PS-.I´M SO HAPPY
ps2- the tub is whit water not in contact whit the bulk(because the black plastic) , is that ok ??? or should i remove that excess water , cause by the transpiration on the colonizing chamber?,
you can see the tub in fruiting (photo ) underneath the black bag is 0.5 cm maybe less of water

I leave my grow lights on 24 hrs a day in my grow room just to keep the temp up. Its super cold here now -15 below 0. My temps range from 72 low to 76 high depending on the temp outside. These temps work for me while fruiting cubes. Keep the 70 to 80 deg range should be fine.

just a little update.
so the tub is pinning a bit slowly almost no changes since last photos.
putted a 25 wat bulb to heat a little bit the space (it is a very big drawer in my closet)
temp is 68\69 F ....
Did 15 syringes of lc honey and store them in fridge and inoculate 1.2 kg of popcorn (3 big jars ) whit the lc and put them in the incubator 78\80 F.
The popcorn was propel hydrated in 38 hour soak and simmer like 90 minutes , after well drained and put outside in big plastic trays to cool down .
Put them in jars and pc them 60 minutes each let them cool down and inoculate whit 3.3 cc each of lc.
Next, going to do 3 tubs at one time.
One question i have :
Straw
worm castings
coco
verm
can i use them to do the tubs (altogether except the verm )??? , and i think next week going to get DONKEY POOO
some advice at which best medium ) tkhs
My goal is to get a big big harvest to celebrate my birthday and give a hell of a party!!!!

thats a long time since pinset to mature...11 days! Im guessing it was too cold. 70 to 80 degrees will fruit cubes. i notice at 70 degrees tho they are very slow to mature and like it much better at 75 F. at 80 F they mature much faster but with less thickness. Optimally ive found 75 F, others may disagree.

anyway at sub 70's which I think you said you were at its too cold IMO and that would explain how long they took to mature. not sure if that explains why theyre so short n fat that may be genetic. but you succeeded :greenboun

extremetal:
they where at 70 F but last 3 days they where alone and when i got there the bulb (providing heating)was fu#@ck. so the temps was 61 F ... let see if they warm up again switched the bulb..and strecht a bit ..a bit confused when to harvest
Let the caps open?? , because i want to collect spores, or cut the caps who are ready and let the stem there to gain height?
The tub was coir\wormcastings \verm , spawn was popcorn the strain GT.
I think it was the very low temps.. i should dunk right????
Thinking to dunk and case 50\50 coco verm ....what would you recommend

hi meku, sorry i missed this thread before. worm castings/coir/verm monotubs are my speciality. :p

if you want to take prints, wait for the caps to open (veil breaks entirely), then harvest. you can remove cap and print while leaving the stem to mature more, but once the fruits are matured enough to remove caps, i don't think stem would grow much more, so might as well pick the whole thing. if you don't plan to take prints, it is recommended to pick just as the veil starts to break. i have heard that spores dropped on the substrate surface can inhibit future pinning, but i have not experienced this (probably because i dunk between flushes and this washes off the spores).

should you dunk? YES !!!!! yes, my friend, please dunk away. 12 hr cold water tap dunk should do wonders for your next flush. dunking is my best friend.

as for short fat fruits, i get that a lot on first flushes on that substrate, but the fruits generally are bigger, meatier, and taller on the 2nd flush after a good long dunk. wouldn't worry about it :)

a pasteurized verm/coir casing would be nice for your 2nd flush, but may i suggest 70/30 verm/coir instead of 50/50? less nutrients in the casing is preferable, so increase the proportion of verm.

if you can increase the temperature at all, that would help with time it takes to pin and mature. i know you had a problem with your lights and it's damn cold where you're at, i hope you can get the temps to stabilize!

good luck to ya, and nice job so far!!! i love the substrate you are working with. can't wait to see the next flush

my darling :
tks to stopped by :) your comments removed a load of my back :)
It is my first flush ever so getting something i am happy already.
Going to do exactly what you said .. this substract is what i can get easily , but yesterday i found a 70 liters hpoo already leached 3,90 euros eheh, so thinking to mix hpooo whit castings coco and verm later (already have 1,2 kg of popcorn incubating).
As you see , my tub is lined from the inside whit plastic trash bag.
How can i dunk safely (i did some holes in the bottom of the tub to get out the excess water).
But when i fill the tub whit the water a big part will be trapped in the plastic bag and will not get out the plastic bag . my question is should i drill holes in the bottom of the plastic bag or should i dunk the tub remove the plastic bag and after take the sub out the tub and put another plastic bag??
Sorry about the questions but i need answers lol

meku,

i have been using plastic bags just like that in my last monotub. i also had much difficulty figuring out how to dunk the substrate... i'll tell you what i did and hopefully this will help you!

i've tried adding dunk water directly in the monotub, and i had holes in the bottom drilled for drainage, but the water would just not drain because the plastic bag was blocking the holes. do you have another tub of the same size? if so, i would use that for dunking. use the plastic bag as sort of "carrier" to remove the substrate from its original tub. what i mean is, grab the sides of the plastic bag and lift the whole thing out, substrate on top. (it is much easier to get the sub block out of the monotub this way than trying to just pull it out with your fingers.)

place the plastic bag on a counter top. then fill the 2nd tub with cold tap water. gently lift the substrate block off the plastic bag and place into the 2nd tub of water. it will float, so either weigh it down with plates and heavy bottles, or take the original monotub and stick it on top of the floating substrate and tape it down to the bottom tub around the sides. this will keep the substrate submerged for the 12 hour duration.

here's a diagram in case that wasn't clear. :)

http://mycotopia.net...=1&d=1232952089

when dunk is done, take the substrate out of the dunk water as gently as you can (it will be soft and easily breakable). place it on some paper towels and let it sit for about 5 mins to drain; also pat the sides and top with more paper towels. then, get the original monotub container and clean it out and place a new, clean plastic bag on the bottom. place the drained substrate block on top. wait a few days and you should have new pins... :)

hello !!
its finally time to show my very first shrooms after 2 lost whit cakes finally whit popcorn and monotub i+ve got it :)
THe final weight was 335.9 grams ehehe think dry weight will be 33 grams ,
the tub is dunking as we speak (tkhs my darling for the explanation on dunking mono).
But 2 things went wrong ,,, i didnt realize they grew so fast so i let them be for 48 hours alone and they liberated so much spores....1 day was perfect.... but next time will get it right .
The second thing is the dunking ...when i was i the middle o taking the substract of the monotub it separated in 2 pieces ..is that alright????
please give me some feedback i want to get a second flush,,,lolol ohh happy ohhh joy ehehehe
PLUR to all of you a million tkhs to all of you i am a very very happy men today :):cacti::cacti::cacti:

nice harvest!! monotubs are great aren't they? don't worry about the spores dropping on your substrate. they'll wash off during the dunk, no problem there.

also, no worries about the substrate breaking in half... i've done that so many times. :eusa_doh: the substrate more or less doesn't care how many pieces it's in in my experience - each half will still fruit fine, and the place where it broke is actually more surface area for pinning. you can put the halves back in the same tub they came from, or separate them into 2 tubs, doesn't really matter IMO.
