Good job el ron! Yeah I'd agree with Hip that these are just a little stronger than cubensis. For the most part I've been figuring 10 grams fresh atl#7 stones/mushrooms = 1 gram dried cubensis mushrooms.

Not sure about weight of dried stones, I don't think they lose as much weight as the mushrooms do.

thats a lot of stones for 1 month worth of growth!
well done! is that 1 month from inoculation or 1 month from full colonization?
have fun with those!

maybe one of you guys could help me with this i was wondering if any strain can produce stones cause i have had a jar of amazons produce stones like a year ago i didnt think them to be stones i thought them to be large invitro aborts or something but when i saw these pics of the tiny stones they looked exactly the same

Sclerotia production is a species specific trait. Cubensis are a totally different species, they will never produce stones.

If you get some sorta gnarly lookin blob, especially if its from an invitro grow, its just a mashed mushroom. That's about all you'll get as there's not enough room for a full mushroom to grow.

Mashed invitro mushrooms are not the same as sclerotia. Sclerotia has the consistency of a nut. Like a chesnut or a walnut. About as hard, pretty close to the same color, and same consistency, no fiberous stem that's curled up like you'd find in one of those invitro blobs.

here are a couple pics of the mother lc whence these jars came into being. she was nocced with 1cc spore solution on 12/29. notice how well the five marbles break up the mycelium after only three seconds of swirling! i never have any trouble slurping it through a regular 12cc syringe with the large gauges like sporeworks distributes.

I'd advise to be cautious about exposing your mycellium to direct sunlight.

I'd also advise that sclerotia is much easier to eat when it is fresh. Once dry, its like chewing on plastic. I usually soak mine in a bit of water, use a smaller bowl to press the dry mushrooms under the surface. Actually I usually use the mead I'm drinking that evening, wine, sake, or beer would work as well, I think the alcohol extracts a bit of the magic so be sure to drink it too; its nice to have something to wash it down with anyways.

beast-the jars are kept in an incubator tuned to 80 degrees farenheit. they are only brought out for inspection and brought into the kitchen for photography. ive read in a post by workman where he says that exposing to light isnt a very big deal and ive also found it not to be a problem. however i would love for you to explain the reasoning for avoiding this.

"exposing to light" is different from "exposing to direct sunlight".

Sure, some indirect light is good for invitro grows. But direct sunlight has lots of uv spectum light in it, and my understanding is that avoiding such is why mycellium lives under ground, rather than on top of it. I'm sure a couple minutes exposure for photographs is not gonna do anything, but I'd be wary of forgetting about them out there.
