This reishi is a heavy sporulator. The perlite is no longer white, but brown. I will post pics tonight when i get home.

I almos forgot. I have to add this piece of info.
This bag was sealed too tight and bacteria did their thing.

It was only 50% colonized and all the others were done. It even smelled sour. So i cut two very small slits on the lower portion of the bag to get some air exchange. The mycelium took over the sub in about 3 days and from the holes you can see the fruitbodies forming. In fact I think its one of the most beautiful fruitbodies in the FC. I have read somewhere that reishi has some antibiotic properties, so perhaps it has an advantage there.
Im gonna have to look a bit more into this on the next batch. Still dont know what it means.

Hi all. Got more pics for ya.
Look how many spores have been released! The bottom of the tub is lined with Perlite!!! Check the last pic where i removed a jar.

I washed the bags and mushrooms under running tap water a few minutes before taking the pics. They were completely covered in spores.

This is my last update for this grow. Im getting ready to pick all of the fruits today to start a new one soon. Thanks for the kind words of all of you. I already picked the biggest fruits a couple of weeks ago and some of the bags fruited again right after i harvested them.

Those are just beautiful. That worked out very nicely. I've been waiting for an update. this was worth the wait.

How long did it take, from start to finish? Just curious, because I'm going to start mine this weekend. I sure hope I can do this good.

I have a few questions, hopefully I can learn something. Your substrate, that was the horse pellets? or were you ever able to add to it? The 'fuzzy' look to the shroom, is that the spores? and was that perlite underneath? It looks like it, so I'm guessing that all the brown on it is from the spores dropping?

How long did it take, from start to finish?

More or less 50 days in total from bags to fruits. I started from colonized bamboo chopsticks, so I would add 8 days for the culture dish and 8 days for the bamboo spawn to colonize, so that woul be 64 days from culture to fruits.

Your substrate, that was the horse pellets? or were you ever able to add to it?

Yes, the substrate was 100% Horse food pellets. It contains a mixture of various hays, including alfalfa, and a lot of mollases. Its very bitter to taste, and ph is very low in the 5-5.5 range. Needed adjusting, with Lime.

Yes and yes. Those are spores. This particular strain is a very heavy sporulator. I have read that there are strains with little to no spore production, which are believed to be less effective, medicinally.
I lined the tub with perlite. And now I dont know If I should save the spores or not, or if its worth washing the perlite to reuse it in another grow.

Actually its a very dark brown. Almost Chocolate Brown.
