heavy duty aluminum. probably can print 20 caps here. the other rig was 6 per tray. sucked casseroles.

fruits are placed on the cookie baking rack(black grate). spores drop then caps removed and prints allowed to dry.

Do you put this try somewhere sterile? What do you about cross-contamination (or are you not concerned with it?)

all same strain printed in one tray. yes its placed in a clean area or glove box and opened in the glovebox.

the lid is foil.

you can put the foil down. place the cookie baking rack above it. place aluminum foil over the container for the lid.

bake in the oven at 350 for an hour. let it cool.

take it to your cleean area. open, place caps in then close foil. place in cool, dry, clean, dark place for 12-18 hours.

I have always just put the cap in a halt pint jar for a day, picked it out and put a lid on it with silicon ports. Those havent failed me yet. Im not saying your setup in inferior in anyway though. Looks perfect for lots of prints.

Don't laugh when I say this...

But the drying racks I got with my "Jerky Pistol" kit work great, same setup you've got eats, and I also have
the ability to squeeze out five pounds of jerked meat in minutes :)

I use that same concept, but in miniature...all inside a quarter pint jar

Nice, I've got me a few of those racks so I'll give this a try. I think they are 'cooling' racks though, not baking racks (cookies go on 'em after baking to cool off). That's a minor detail but might help others locate them or whatever local version is available more easily.

I have found that bending the long leg of a paper clip so that it makes an "L" shape works great as a cap tote handle. I stick the long straight part of the clip through the cap at the very top so it pokes back out a little (taking care not to penetrate into the gills), then while holding the other part of the clip (the handle) I cut off the cap and move it to the printing setup without touching the cap except for the paper clip. I leave it in while it prints, then use it to pull the caps back out. It's easy to not put the clip in deep enough and you'll have some caps tear and drop off the clip until you get the hang of it, so take a few failures into account when deciding how many caps to print.

Here's something I use and it works really good for one print at a time. Just put some water on the bottom and sterilize the apparatus. Then you can print directly into the water. You can then suck up the spores through the lid after you remove the cap.
