Damn nice catch Hip.
Its still a bit to cold to catch any bass.
We got trout season coming up here next month
then after that the bass will come to life.

Gotta love spring time fishing. My son and I hit a local river day b4 yesterday and slammed 3 bass over 5 pounds, a couple of tarpon and a few snook thrown in for good measure.

Gonna hit the big lake in a couple of days to fish for shell crackers, specks and blue gills to stock the freezer.

A bad day of fishing trumps a good day at work anytime!

I must tell you after seeing those fish I grabbed my rod and went down to the river. I wasn't as successful though... I left after a group of shady characters started to meander my way. Damn kids. :kewl:

once my chickens grow up
i'll have some choice feathers
for those who tie their own trout flies,
the wyandottes are very popular for that.

Hellava catch you got there Hip! A lot of crappie you caught, they are good eating. Do you add the fish heads/scraps from cleaning them to compost or make tea? Can't wait until we go fishing up at the lake.

I see you practive the 'catch and fillet' method of fishing. Hell with that 'catch and release' method. Live off the land like Mother nature intended.

I love pulling one over on the man when i go fishing.:pirate:

limits don't apply, it's my private pond, which i stock.
and mostly i do catch and release,
yesterday was exception
as i needed to reduce number of crappie
so my baby channel catfish can survive.

Nice! Cant wait til the ice is off the bay(s) just thin enough its unsafe but damn shit is still there. Nice bass for sure my friend...:bow:Minnows huh? Crappie is delicious. I decided my favorite for eatin is walleye, striped bass and crappie. They got these hard fightin fish out here called wipers, white bass and a striper crossed. They fight like a fuggin rabid ST. Bernard on pcp. :headbang:

Anyways, fish onn. :eusa_clap

Right on!

I am very happy to see this type of livin' goin on for fellow folks.

I caught the thread about the new property a little bit ago, and was impressed!

I too live on some acres, but only 7 -- not near as much as was mentioned at your hip farm. But a lot of free space still. I have a trail built back there, which is nice. Most of my lot is wooded with oak, no ponds, but does have creeks and waterfall. Beauty is great.

So glad you found a lil spot there.

Everyone should look into this.

LandandFarm.com is a good place for ideas and inspiration.
