Do you plan to keep cutting and growing bridgesii pups on those indefinitely?
Another round of growth could possibly have been harvested before the stocks were spent. However due to space restrictions and other projects, I ended up degrafting the second round of growth and the stocks were then discarded.
The Peres stocks wouldn't support new growth indefinitely, though a perpetual type grow could be achieved by grafting the pups back onto new stocks.
I ended up getting 40+ healthy Bridgesii plants from the 10 original grafts. They are all individually potted up now and growing outside in full sun.
The propagation sand is cool. Is this a special kind or just sharp sand? Am having trouble with growing roots that fast. Not having much luck yet on my loph-grafting. After reading this again I know now I need more humidity.
The propagation sand is simply a coarse sharp sand of various sized particles.
Here is a pic I posted in one of my other threads showing what it looks like.
Providing a constant warm temp will speed up root development, bottom heat is even better.
Hahaha....I love it! Awesome thread, great pictures, thank you!
But you've been hiding something from us.
I want to see a few pics of the garden in the foreground of the very
first picture in this thread! You know what garden I'm talking about....
Thanks again!
Another thread, for another day. :pirate:
Thanks for the comments.

Good for a size comparison on grafted vs seed grown, keeping in mind the original degrafted bridgesii were even bigger, but unfortunately are not in the pics.

Pretty typical when using pereskiopsis for a stock.

Yes, the seedlings, while still very small, were basically just cut in half and carefully postiioned on top of the cut Pereskiopsis.
Is it done this way with Lophophora? I mean, do I have to base-cut the Lopho seedling and position it over the Pere?
High humidity is also recomended with Lopho as to "cure" the union properly?
Thank you and really ASTONISHING and BEAUTIFUL work you do around here!
Cheers!
