I'm wondering the same thing.
I really want to start making my own fractal art stuff. :)

I haven't looked yet, been busy w/ a lot of things, but I am sure there must be some good Fractal generating programs out there.
I remember having one that I typed in for free way back when I was on an Atari 800 computer, so I imagine they have much better ones now! ( It took about 2-3 days to finish a fractal page. 64K of memory doesn't do math like todays machines
Let me know if you find any cool ones Lys.

Oooh, if you folks are into fractals, I suggest you purchase a copy of the "Fractal Recursions" DVD,(produced by Jock Cooper). I bought the DVD about a year ago, and its 46 minutes of animated fractals, and 26 minutes of fractal slideshows. Quite fascinating to watch, and I'd imagine even more so when trippin' ;)
The last time I checked, there were loads of clips on Youtube taken from the DVD.

regarding that optical illusion above where the circles look as if they are spinning, it is kind of like when on mushrooms or cactus and patterns start to swurl. I have noticed that even when as sober as a judge if I look at say patterns of toilet floors or other compact patterns I can see the swerling and swelling effect as if I am tripping. I don't panic of feel weird when this happens but look at it I think " wtf I am not tripping now " Anyone get this or know what I am talikng about ? Guess I should lay of the psychedelics for a while

they are not fractals but if I were to make fractals I would use them.
When asked if life exists out there in space, I tell sure does...and when they ask how I know I introduce them to Mandelbrotn, natural selection and fractal geometry

You hit the nail on the head. Optical illusion only. No "real" movement.
No cg.

I like fractals as a desktop background. Well, not the ones that look like they are moving. Here's a couple I like.

I don't think a shopping mall bathroom floor is intended to be a optical illusion

I know why optical illusions happen but when I am 100% sober, why do some patterns have the swerling, warping and swelling effect. They never used to but only now have I noticed even when sober for weeks on end that some "normal" patterns warp, swirl and swell.

I'm not dising you Truth but just wondering if anyone has this effect when looking at compact patterns such as "peppledash" etc
