Are you going to case at all?
So far they seem to be staying at a decent humidity level for me, so probably not.
Also, a prior batch which was done similarly and cased with verm showed few pins in the middle of the tubs and many on the edges. I never saw the creeper mycelium colonize through the casing layer at all either. (I've seen some strains agressively take over verm when cased this way, so it may just be Creepers or the type of them I'm working with.) Kinda odd since it eats through the compost something vicious. :headbang: :headbang::headbang:
So we see how these go with no casing this round.
It's also important to note that I've been misting the substrate directly on the top to aid it in keeping moist. This is in addition to just keeping the walls and lid bottom misted. So far, so good. :)
I've also noticed I put slightly more substrate mix in Tub B then in Tub A. You can sorta see the difference this made in the colonizing pics above. Tub A appears to have been quicker somewhat.

Actually.......... I never got compost right from the bag to colonize completely. I had to cut/fluff it with peat moss to give it more "fluff". :D

Does the bagged manure you use come with humus added? Does it have peices of wood? If so do you remove this or just let it ride?

could you go into a bit of detail on your poo pasturization method.
some in-depth details/pix on pasteurization would be great,
the new vaults here are a bit short on such info

I'll make a seperate thread about that soon.
Very nice doob!

No. And yes, there are some wood bits in it, you can see some in the pics if you look very closely. I do nothing to it. Well, actually, I think the sticks are more from the peat moss. The compost itself is pretty clean.
