Maverick 88 12 ga 7+1 with a 20 inch bbl.

Basically a cheaper version of the Mossberg 500 (even made by Mossberg) but made in Mexico. Does the job.

I took the sling off of there due to all the weight from the shells in there create a 6lb pendulum swinging back and forth. Try hitting a target with that.

Sadly I had to sell my Remington 870

This is the shotgun that I carry on the boat:

500 Mossberg Mariner 12 gauge pump-action, 6-round capacity, 18-1/2” barrel, bead sight, proprietary Marinecote™ metal finish for marine use.

It's a sling not an ammo belt Hip. Although it probably would function better as an ammo belt.

Not only cheaper than dirt but function like shit as well.

The mariner finish looks nice. I saw those for sale around here.

Do you like the pistol grip?

For me they look cool but hitting something more than 10 yards away can be a PIA. They are designed to breach doors or be fired from a moving vehicle.

i love the pistol grip on my m4 auto, has a folding stock though so a lil easier to shoot accurate. def close range gun though. 18 inch barrel. its sole purpose is to spray down the house if someone comes in. clip fed as well. can take a chinese drum if u got strong arms lol.

Yeah folding stock is a diferent story.

Big misconception with a shotgun is not having to aim. Not the case at all. While it is much easier to hit a target than with a rifle or pistol, you still need to aim that badboy.

taking aim def helps lol. but if u got a semi auto pistol grip and u let it go in the house u proly hit sumpn if ur not using slugs. we got 3 buck shot and 5 slugs loaded. clip holds 10 more slugs if take time to get it out.

Indeed Hip.

But it wouldn't look as cool with some shell holders empty now would it.

If I buy another one and put them across my chest I could go all Pancho Villa.

I like the pistol grip, makes it more manageable on the boat, can be used with light shot(rock salt) in case of intruders to not sink the boat, and makes a nice shark gun before ya bring them on board :pirate:. I also carry a .308 Winchester rifle with a nice high powered 10x scope so that I can see what's coming up on me and place ranged "warning shots" if they are up to no good:reb:

I own a Winchester 1300 speed pump, 18 1/2" barrel, will hold 7+1 2 3/4" shells and 6+1 3" magnums. Capable of rapid fire. Shoots slugs very accurately too. First firearm I ever purchased.

a pistol grip on a 12 ga. looks intimidating
but it's crap for hitting a target that's not point-blank close.
esp. on a pump shotgun.
i'd rather have a butt stock to brace on shoulder,
that's intimidating enough and far more deadly.

I have a single shot "Long Tom" with a 38" barrel made specially for high flying geese:eusa_danc
Its older than you are Hippie:nana:

Best most lethal shotgun i ever had was a Browning Stalker 10 guage pump
I had a custom recoil pad fitted for it so it would not rip your shoulder off
My favorite 12 guage by far was a Belgium A5 autoloader.

Both were stolen from me when i was living on Dudley Whites ranch in Austin, Tx
He was a famous Texas Ranger, I met him in `97 and he rented me one of his ranch houses with a handshake for the lease agreement.
He knew and highly respected my grandpaw Pope who was good friends with him during the 1940`s until probably the late 1980`s when he passed away.

He was in a wheelchair when i met him and i helped get him in and out of bed on numerous occasions, I had to use a bed sheet to lift him up because he was so old and you had to be careful with him because he was so frail.
He always had his 6 shooter with him under his blanket in his wheel chair
His stupid kids put him in a old folks home and doped him up horribly, They ran all us renters off and sold the ranch.
I killed and harvested many a deer with my .22 on that ranch and took all the renters fresh venison, I always took the best cuts of backstrap and tenderloin to Dudley.

Rem 1100, good gun but you have to keep it clean or the action will jam.
