I am no expert, but I know these fruiting bodies have some kind of chemical in them that is a natural repellent to insect predators. Similar to Juglan/Juglone found in black walnut that prevents other plants from growing near them.
They are all over the place in the south/south east.

since theres not as much activity in the edible section i was wondering, how close in proximity can you use Neem Oil to a tray or a shoe box, for your Edible mush and Magic. how close could everyone spray it and would the fumes mess up initial pins and fruitbodies if it was sprayed inside the FC room

bump* for more input ? anyone ever use neem around their mush with success? and if so how close to them did you use it ? i ask only because its a fungicide as well so i figured having it venting in the same room would be bad for fruit conditions

Experiment might be in order.
Yellow sticky paper works great for knats as well if that wasnt said originally.
