i have been messing around with different ways of cultivating oyster mushrooms, with things i have on hand. i found this tek by hyph and bingo. i already have a bunch of hole ridden buckets! the only thing i changed was that i steam sterilized the straw right in the bucket.

Looking great! Got any pics of when you were prepping the bucket?

I'm getting ready to do up a couple of laundry baskets similarly with blue oysters.

thanks for your rresponses. no i dont have any prep pictures. but i soaked the straw over night, then loaded in a bucket. i dont drain after the soak as i will let it sit in the steamer overnight. put my temp prob in the middle and fired up the steamer. one hour over 160 degrees, then i let is cool down over night.
