russian-made
since before WWII
proly killed more nazis than any other small arm.
muzzle velocity in excess of 2000 fps will defeat most body armor.
fires the 7.62 x 54R round,
roughly equal to a springfiled .30-.06
very accurate, bolt action.
the sniper version was featured in the movie
enemy at the gates
by the russian sniper against the german sniper.

i'm not trying to sell one,
if that's what you're asking.
but yes, one can quickly find these
at various online gun stores, ebay, amazon.
hit that google link posted above-
i found a deal where they hand-select the best of 5 rifles
and ship it for about a hundred bucks US

That show Pawn Stars is great. Did you see the cannon that was brought into them and ended up being worth 40k? When they took it for a test fire to see if it worked and it was like "BOOM!!!". :headbang:

definitely a good investment, the sights took a minute for me to be able to use accurately. but, a high powered rifle for $100? cant lose...

the north vietnamese inherited a shitload of these from the Russians as well. It was the primary sniper weapon used by them against the US in that war.

The Lee Enfield (sp?) .303 is similar in the fact they can be found for apx. $100. They also make a good hunting rifle.

Yeah I personally prefer the Enfield myself for no other reason but I find the action to be a bit more smooth.

Downside is .303 can be a bitch to come by where 7.62 x 54r is relatively easy to come by.

Both are great rifles and a hell of a deal.

I'm pretty happy with my mosin nagant. I'd like to get rid of the bayonet, add a scope, maybe a nice stock, but as it is, I think I paid only $75 for it a few years ago, and its surprisingly accurate (especially when compared to the slightly cheaper 8mm mauser that I also purchased at the time).
