what are you going to do with them?

Thanks man! The family will get a years supply and the rest will be sold to friends and relatives. Not sure Ill be doing another run this year, even if I do it wont be as big as this one. Too much spores everywhere.

BTW - I think you could just cut the sporulating parts (caps?) and let the rest grow a little more. It wouldn't hurt to try, I guess.

Thank you Koldjgdaro. They arnt worth much if you sell them in bulk, I was offered 25 USD for a kilo. So now Iam selling to friends and people that contact me on a hungarian forum. I now sell them for many times more but still cheap compared to the reishi pills being sold in shops.

Even though the spores are a pain in the ass, the conks produce biomass most eficiantly. In other words you get a higher yield growing conks, compared to antlers. Furthermore spores contain a higher beneficial alkaloid content than the flesh.

If I had a completly seperate room for growing them it wouldnt be a problem. I hope that my logs, innoculated last year will start producing this year. Maybe even some of the thiner logs I nocced a few months ago. That way I wouldnt have to grow indoors anymore untill I get more room to work with. Outdoor crops can be quite large, nice fat conks :thumbup:

Harvested another 12 jars yesterday! Some very pretty conks in this batch. The spore load was absolutly suficating. I shouldnt have complained about the antlers, atleast they didnt disperse spores.

Anyhow this new batch should be about 800 grams dry. Which comes out to 66 grams per jar about 4 liters of substrate. Iam pleased.

Iam expecting the last jars to finish in 1 month at the latest. Cant wait to be honest. Ill try and snap a few pictures of the grow tent. The floor is brown :lol:

To be honest I have not made any atempt at colecting them. They are everywhere so I could scrape or wash them off the racks and jars. Iam just not sure if its worth the hassle.

The spores I feel in my nose and mouth infact I feel them in all my airways, they smell mushroomy but have this bitter sensation. Not pleasent :)

Thanks man :) Its been a long ride. Probably the longest growlog Ive posted on topia to date. Iam happy that so many people started growing reishi in the last few months!
Iam now set for a year. So no more for a while time to kick back :roll:

I bought that greenhouse in a garden center for like 100 USD its sturdy with sturdy racks. You could probably build something similar for far less money though.

I would say its worth collecting the spores. They have something like double the amount of polysacharides so I've heard.

Your right ethno. I really should make an effort to collect them. I could probably scrape or wipe off a few grams.

Any thought about how I should try doing this? I was thinking taking a fresh dishwashing sponge and use a little bit of water and a small bowl to wipe off the jars and racks. Then take this spore slurry and dry it. Cant think of any other way to be honest.

Some of the logs I nocced with dowels a few months ago are starting to show signs of mycelium. Ill have to find the time and make some plots for these logs with some sort of shade tarp to keep the humidity up.

important is the way u dry them as well!!as stamets showed in his book mycelium running.so drying them in sunnlight with gills facing upwards results in remarkable higher content of vitamine d!!

Thanks for the great advise! Ill def look into those papers Erkee! From the sound of it its almost like the 9er tek just with spores instead of tissue.

However in my case iam collecting the spores for consumption and not for future grows. Ill see what I can do :)

And Susu thank you for remiding me about the sunlight. Ill have to dry the next batch in the sun!!

I harvested the last 10 jars today. Iam done! I have about 5 pounds all together now and a shitload of spores.

Cleaned out the room today, smells like bleach everywhere :lol:
