worm bin and spent substrate

maybe a dumb question but...
any downside to using spent substrate in my worm bins?They seem to be doing ok and the whole idea of using their castings in a future sub makes me happy,but I am new to redworm farming and started wondering if there could be any negative side effects

i actually dig up worms for my turtles and fishing in the same spot under a low tree that i toss my substrates. After its done flushing, i turn some soil up and its worm city.
