Here is some mead trivia for you, Pharmer.

Did you know the "honey" from honeymoon is referring to mead. In medieval times a newlywed couple was to be provided enough mead to last for a full cycle of the moon. And the word 'honeymoon' was born.

This was supposed to increase fertility, and to increase the chances of a male heir being conceived.

There has been some studies by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) that suggest there may well be chemicals in the mead that due in fact help raise fertility rates.

I know it's early but it is martini time. Blue cheese olives, and too much vermouth, on a cold laundry day is my favorite way. I like my martini grimy, and a hot bath on the way.

Healing the nation.

It's my Sunday fun day.

Just some inexpensive beer:

Just finished one 25oz can of a Natty Daddy, 8% alcohol.

Just started on my other 25oz can of Bud Ice.

About to munch on two White Castle cheese burgers with smoky BBQ sauce! Yum!

I'm putting some Yukon Jack in my coffee this morning. I know its early, but I have work to do outside, and it's under 10*F, and it will make me less (though only slightly) whiny.

Polished off 4 cheap beers. Cheap beers is good beers. Gets you the same satisfaction as the craft brews for less money, and you don't have to risk spending a bunch of cash on "sounds really tasty!" craft/micro brews that fail to deliver on the "TASTES GOOD AND LIVES UP TO THE HYPE!" I've seriously taken so many chances on awesome-sounding beers that didn't taste all that amazing in the past so I now stick to cheap beers, or the tried-and-true German and Polish standby beers that always live up to the promise of being great-tasting!

About to get some Red Maeng Da in me and puff on my e-cig/vape with extremely extreme minty e-juice and chill out to Netflix and some good tunes while I await sleep to take me.

Mrs GLP bought me a case (24 cans) of Fosters Ale in the green can, not the blue that everyone normally sees. A good drinking beer with a slight bitters after taste, or I would call it crisp. They come in a 25.4 oz can so a case of 24 will last me for awhile.

I hear you Niem, a lot of beer sales seems to be about a cool name, and catchy advertising that leave a lot to be desired with the taste factor.  But sometimes trying new things means getting disappointed.  It's kind of a catch-22 I guess.

But tonight I took no chances.  I went with a Seattle made favorite of mine...

(modest theatrical pause...........)
