Natty Lite.

I quit liquor.  It's weird, but a shot here and there turned into 4-5 a night over the course of a year.

Not my speed or style.

Funny, but I miss taking shots - 80 proof ethanol has a magical way of addressing any negative stimulus in a very immediate way that I found pleasing.

Alas . . . what's best for us is not always pleasing.

:)

Drinking some homemade Kahlua, and milk.

Add 4 cups sugar, and 2 cups instant coffee to 10  cups of boiling water.

Simmer and stir occasionally for 6 min to make sure everything is dissolved.  Cover, and let cool to room temp.

Add 1/5 bottle of Everclear grain alcohol, and 4 oz of real vanilla extract.  Mix thoroughly.

This batch will fill one half gallon bottle, two fifth bottles, and slightly over half a pint.

Enjoy :)

Ah, I remember the days of my youth when I used to drink shots of Everclear straight from the bottle, sometimes with a chaser.

Tonight it's Lagunitas Super Cluster Ale.

I've had to curtail my alcohol escapades lately, as I find I have a strong desire to live long and prosper.

Yea, I didn't think that I needed to put a disclaimer or warning with my recipe but maybe I should have.  Everclear is no joke, it is not meant to be ingested straight or with a little mixer added.  You risk serious alcohol poisoning, or even death if you play around with it like that.

My Kaluha comes out around 80 - 100 proof, depending on if the everclear you get in your area is 151, or 190 proof.  And while my kaluha is still serious stuff that has room for abuse, so does all alcohol, even 3.5 ABV beer.  But unlike everclear, the kaluha is at a strength that if used in mixed drinks by responsible adults there is no risk of poisoning anyone.

Everclear is an amazing substance when used by 'responsible' adults.

It's great for cleaning motherboards or plugin cards.

If some spills into your soda can?  Egads!

Holy Crap!!

Now, this thread is a blast from the past.

Looking through this thread I see friends from days gone by.

Brings a tear to my eye to know Hippie started this thread many years ago.

Anyway, I am drinking a Black Pearl Porter that I brewed a month or so ago.  Straight out of the keg. :thumbs_up2:

Seeing your post made me go back to the beginning of the thread and holy bajeezus, I was the 3rd post in here....in 2009!!

Some home made wine from a co worker (I taught him to brew and now he always bring stuff in). It's terrible, but I don't have the heart to tell him....

Crap!!  I spent a shit ton of money today, and I didn't even get to bring home any shiney new doo dads.....

$1.2k for a new washer and dryer for our rental, now that shit hole has better appliances then we have here at home.  Another 7 bones for the Subaru's 30K mile service, an oil change (6 quarts of full synthetic 0-20wt), and getting the snow tires swapped for the all seasons (mount and balance, I don't own a second set of rims), and last but not least, a reup for 90 days of my blood pressure meds for another 2 hun.

I'm pretty damn certain that I spent way more than I made today.  I need to brew a batch of beer to deal with this....

Until then, I'm working on cheap vodka and sprite.  Crude, but effective.

I'm a lifelong Zevon fan, and that little gem I only found on the web about a year ago.  Another couple of  gems that are not as common are A fist full of rain, and monkey wash donkey rinse

If you like Warren and haven't heard them, you should give them a try :)
