I always birth my cakes and immediately dunk them in ziplock bag placed inside my fridge overnight (12 hours). I simply place my cake in the new ziplock bag, put the bag up to the sink faucet, fill with water and pinch shut. Works great! Gives them a great head-start. I highly recommend dunking directly after birthing and after each flush.
Gives me pretty fruits like these! [click to enlarge pics to high-res!]

Yum! Anyone else care to share their dunking preferences? :rasta:

nice, i usually clean out the bottom drawer in my fridge with bleach toss the cakes in with water and a little preoxide and let em sit over night. i may have to try this because its a pain in the ass to dump out that drawer without spilling it every where.

It's definitely easier than filling up your entire fridge drawers with water. Just a few ziplock bags and your sink will do the trick. Dunking them together can also promote cross-contamination between cultures. That's bad. The plastic bags prevent this entirely.
Much love DOS! :rasta:
