Psilocybe galindoi v. georgia 'ATL#7'

  • Dec 21: rye berries inoculated with spore syringe
  • Jan 6: grain to grain transfers
  • Jan 23: very early harvest of stones from a one quart jar, then the colonized grain (with a few tiny sclerotia in it) spawned at a 50/50 ratio to pasteurized 40:40:20 Moo-Poo /Strawnet/verm substrate in a small bucket
  • Jan 25: spawn run complete, cased with peat moss/verm/CaCO3
  • Jan 29: bucket moved to fruiting chamber
  • Feb 5: pinning! Here are a few pics of the largest pins and there are many more pins growing, but couldn't get a good picture of the entire area.

  • Feb 6: Pins are coming along very well! The largest pins are about 2 cm tall so far.

  • Feb 7: Pins progressing. Fruiting temperature is 70-74 degrees F

Hopefully some of the caps should be open tomorrow. This project was spawned to the moo-poo/strawnet substrate only because I couldn't wait any longer and had to open a 1 month old jar early and harvest some stones. The colonized grain, with a couple tiny stones left in, were ready to spawn to something, and a pasteurized moo-doo/strawnet batch that I was going to try some Panaeolus on was avalable, so why not. So far, so good. I would love to wake up to nice canopy of printable caps! :rasta:

Besides a few quart jar of rye berries busily growing stones, I have a few trays of ATL#17 coming up soon using with a pasteurized 20% Strawnet + 10% Eco Straw +60% Coir + 10% Verm substrate with a dash of gypsum.

Don't forget to go through those trays when they're all done fruiting, there should be a bunch of stones hidden in there.

Thanks for the comments! I'm hoping to get a few flushes out of this bucket, and some spores. I'll probably clone the largest fruit. This substrate has some Moo-Poo compost in it, so not sure what I would do with the sclerotia, except perhaps moving them to some fresh substrate.

Feb 8: Here they are about 20 hours later. Hopefully I'll be seeing some nice cap expansion today. They seem to be progressing rather slowly, so I raised the fruiting chamber temp's from the low to mid 70's to 78-79 F. The fruiting surface is about 6.5" in diameter, and the tallest fruits are approx 1.75" tall. Stones have pushed up and cause cracks in the casing in a few spots..

Looks like it may be tomorrow before any caps fully expand. Here are some pic's taken about 7 hours after this mornings update.

Not too sure about Moo-Doo sclerotia! :puke:

Feb 9: very nice progress this morning. I harvested the 2 specimens pictured below and am attempting to print them. The largest cap is only 1.5 cm wide! There should be alot more ready this afternoon...
