This tek imo beats the mek tek hands down for quickly cleaning up dirty mescaline.

The mescaline hcl to be cleaned is placed in a vial

A tiny amount of water is added

Copius amounts of acetone is added

The solution is stirred

Once the precipitates settle, the clear solution above is filtered off and evaporated to yeild

as you can see by the next pic there is still slight color in there so the mescaline still contains non mesc alkaloids - an mek re-x can clean them up but with this batch of cactus the non mesc alkaloids are very enjoyable.

The part that was washed off still contains a bit of mescaline - that can be washed with acetone, then picked up in water - filtered and evaporated to rescue any lost mescaline.

Now now now, we both know that you can't judge a book by its cover, or a crystal by its color! That bit of color could be anything, there is no possible way you could know that it is other non-mesc alkaloids unless you performed some sort of chromatography.

we are collecting the acetone/water soln and leaving precipitates behind,
then we evap the acetone/water soln to get the mesc?

or

is the final product the precipitates?

To bad all these threads your making have photobucket pics instead of being uploaded to here as per the rules. I edited your last one , but don't have the energy to keep doing it. Would saying pretty please upload pics help ?

Nothing with offsite pics like photobucket will be vaulted into the archives.

The other option I suppose is just to remove the offsite pics. That would screw up your thread though. I think its best if you just upload to begin with and then we wouldn't have to waste time removing the offending pics.

The acetone water mix is evapped to yeild the clean mesc - a tiny bit may remain in the stuff that precipitated.

Hello...
Just to clarify:

1.) The crude-mescaline-HCL/water/acetone mixture is left to separate the precipitates (unwanted chemicals) from the rest of the solution, in a vial?

2.) Then the solution is poured off from the precipitates (how do you separate the precipitates from the solution?), and left to evaporate, at which point relatively clean mescaline is left in the bottom in crystalline form?

3.) Then the same process can be repeated on the precipitates, to pull any remaining mescaline?

Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of the steps.
