If it is still a cake dunk it.
If it is a casing a la hongus tek pull off all
the little abhorts and spray it down. You might
also want to add some more casing material if
appropriate.

a casing, once cleaned meticulously and patched where needed by fresh material, should be lightly misted over several days to gradually get its' moisture content up to optimum. don't just drench it, as there are tiny pins already forming for the next flush.

Here is the tek that i created to make the casing:
You will need:
fully colonized cakes
vermeculite
horse dung that has been sterilized.
plastic pots that hold plants(I got mine from the plant store in the back
)
masking tape
incubator
grow chamber
air freshener
and water
Alright now that you have gotten all of the materials you need to take the pot and wash it in the dishwasher. After it is done washing tape up all the holes on the bottom.
Then get the vermeculite and wet it and put in the bottom of the pot so that it is about half of an inch thick.
Then take your cakes and crumble them into little pieces and place it on top of the vermeculite.
Now set this in your incubator for the time being.
Now take your dung and place it in an old shirt, pillow case etc. and tie it up.
Next get a big pot and fill it up with water and get it boiling.
Now drop that dung into it and let it boil for about 45 mins and get the hell out of there b/c the smell will burn your nose hairs.
After dowsing the room full of air freshener turn the pot off and remove the dung.
Now take and wring out the excess water and let it sit for the night and cool.
Now the next morning take your pot out of the incubator and get that dung.
Now take out some dung and break it up and sprinkle it over the crumbled cakes to the top.
Now place it in your incubator.
After a week week take it ou and scrape the dung off.
Now take some more vermeculite and wet it and sprinkle it over the top of the white fuzzy mycellium.
Now place it in your grow chamber and BAM you will have Farmers dung/vermeculite casing.
I did this b/cat the time I didn't have any way of lowering the ph level in the dung and plus i just wanted to try something new.
Sorry for the lengthy post.
Good luck to whoever wants to try it;)

I guess I was just going for the nutrients if any.

casings are 'sposed to be non-nutritious.
