Psilocybe Tampanensis Unicorn Mycobag culture.
- Multispore Culture, Spores from a 2009 grow (with spores from my 2006 'weillii' looking fruits)
- Spores inoculated directly into grass seed
- Grass Seed (Div.) spawn (16days)
- Sterilized (2,5hrs.) Substrate mix: Straw (pellets & cuttings) 70%,Grass Seed (div. called 'Spiel & Sportrasen') 20% (14 days)
- (Thin) Casing layer: Premium Pot Flower Soil & Cocohum Mix, pasteurized
- Temperatures: Spawn 25-26 Degr. Celsius, Fruiting 21-22 Degr. Celsius
- Pins after 10days
Like Workman often mentioned it's important to do clone work to get a good fruiting isolate. My multispore grows always looks like this culture. Though some of the fruits have malformed gills, others dropped spores leaving dark prints. Maybe there will be a better looking 2nd or 3rd flush, we'll see. Atm. I am working on so many species again, I don't know if I'll clone a good looking fruit.

Nice grow ! I read that all domesticated Tampanensis came from one specimen that Steve Pollock and Gary Lincoff found near Tampa Fl. back in 1977.
Could it be that there's not enough variation in the 'gene pool' to produce well formed fruits?

Yeah the reason I was asking is cus Workman mentioned something that the spores sporeworks was selling as tampanensis were actually Glandoi.

Only recently did he aquire some real tampanensis spores that some guy found. I think I saw this discussion over at the shroomery, but like so many things it may have been a dream.

Hey kocos,
you're mistake that with the ATLANTIS.
The Tampa has always been Tampanensis.

I really can't tell why they are so strangely fruiting from multispore. Remember this bag is from spores to grass seed spawn, there are lots of different isolates growing together here.

If I'd clone the best looking one I could establish a nice looking culture like Workman did. I'll do so with fruits fom the next flush.

Since my grows are targetted to fruit I don't care about Sclerotia growing. But I'm sure there will be some as usual with Tampanensis.
I'll search for them when it's sure there will be no more fruitbodies.

Must have been a dream then! Dont mind me
Great grow!
Edit: Ive mistaken tampanensis with atlantis. Sooory... and its Psilocybe galindoi not "glandoi":eusa_wall

2nd flush ready, got lots of better and healthier looking mushrooms.
Unfortunatelly I removed around 20 big capped ones for printing when realizing I forgot to take pix. Well, shit happens, here are pictures with those 20 best looking shrooms missing. Yesterday evening I cloned 2-3 of the best looking FBs, hope to get them fruiting in a few weeks.

Thanks a lot, though I am really sad, I forgot to take pictures before I took those fruits off.

I am glad you've posted your impression, Mrs. Hippie, I always try to support Mycotopia with my ambitious grows of rare species- since your husband got me on it I even take the time to upload them to 'topias picture server.

I am myself not 100% pleased with this multispore grow, I'll try to get a more even fruitbody appearance with an clone isolate.

i think all of the Captians grow threads simply need to default to a five mushroom rating. truly one of the best cultivators on the web.

and he forgets to take pics too, so i am not alone

much love to you my friend
