first try with Hillbilly
agar wedge to lc
Rice bag, supercake mix
nocc'd up 2/3
added pasteurized Hpoo/coir
and then watched it explode
Hooray for Hillbilly!

It looks like they are all going to be sterile, though
I had one ricecake off the same lc
shoot off a pin after two days
and grow one big sterile fella
it looks like this bag is going to follow suit
I'll make sure to make a clone

HB has worked great for me though I have also had a problem with sterile non printing fruits. Keep trying eventually you will get some spores! :eusa_danc

I am surprised to hear that about HB not printing easily. I remember it being a heavy spore dropper. But it has been a few years since I grew any out.

Regardless, it is a very aggressive strain, and your bag looks killer, Usa!

Did you grow that invitro or in an FC?

invitro
I really liked how it worked out
I have tried invitro with corn in the bags
and it never colonized well for me
but i think the large number of tiny particles that is created
when the rice is broken up and mixed with the poo
made it recolonize faster
I am definitely going to explore rice bags in the future

Nice looking flush! :headbang:
I've been wanting to try some bags/invitro... I picked up some oven bags the other day but not sure how to go about it. ???????? I'm wondering how to go about venting it during the colonization period and the fruiting stages. A 1 inch hole taped over with Tyvec with a twisty tie for the top? Any suggestions or teks to follow?

hey Duke: http://mycotopia.net...-questions.html

Two more hillbilly tubs
the tubs seem to have a touch of the vert:neutral:
bumski
these too appear to be sterile
either way
I am loving the Hillybillies
took some clones off the bag
tossed them on some petris
and named them after Squidbillies characters
i have dunked and placed the bag back into fruiting conditions

The HB's we worked with all caps were irregular and plane cap shaped when mature, and were heavy spore droppers.

On your HB's the cap shape looks parabolic when mature. Also the gills look sporeless. I wonder if this is because it was a wild strain?

Once again the grow is absolutely gorgeous and interesting to compare.

Thank you for sharing:bow:
