Lots of folks talk shit about the iso hash.I consider it good stuff so i thought id make a simple tek.

I had some sucker leaf laying around and i thought id post this easy iso tek.There is pretty much nothing to it.Check it out.

I got my leaf and put it in a wide mouth pint jar.

I added the Isopropyl alcohol,shook and let sit for 5 minutes.

I put a coffee filter over the top of the jars and filtered the alcohol into a small casserole dish.I then put the casserole dish on top of pot of boiling water "double boiler".

After the alcohol evaporated i pulled the casserole dish off the top of the boiling water and i let it sit for a few minutes.I then used a razor to scrape up the gold.

I can't wait to start growing my own down south! I'll be using every bit of plant that I can! This is a pretty good tek, 2 steps! Pretty much just takes away all the annoying bits that include strainers and evaporating from other teks :D I like!

The higher % the better but this was done with 90% that was bought from the mart for $1.

Do you know what the weight of the starting material and yeiild in your experiment is?

How potent is it compared to the average bud?

@cap the thing is when doing iso tek is to only have the iso in the jar for 5 min then strain off.This gets the trichomes off the leaf.Remember this tek is only from leaf...

looks great east only suggestion i would have is to take your extract and let it cure for a few weeks , this will make it greatly smoother.:rasta:

Quick question ~ I have some homegrown from a friend that molded on him. I've kept it sealed up in a tin not wanting to toss it (its good danky) hoping I could do something with it.

Could I do an iso tek like this with it to get the hash and leave the mold behind? If not, I'll finally just get rid of the moldy shit, but would hope something like this could save it in some way.

Thanks East. I've been trying to find out if moldy herb can be saved in any way and am hoping an iso tek like this could work. I'll document if I try this out.

Definatley mold will transfer to the solvent and oil. I've seen this myself several times. It can make people ill from smoking this oil.

As far as bubble-hash goes there's different schools of thought on the subject. Bubbleman himself says that moldy herb can be used to safefly make bubble hash. Others say that this is incorrect. Bubbleman claims to have looked into it quite a bit and has done experiments. I know for a fact that he is very , very picky about what he smokes as far as bubble goes , and if he says its mold-free then I tend to believe him.

Having said all that i've been the victim of smoking moldy buds and by-products in the past and i've never felt sicker in my life. Its a terrible thing to go through ... a lung infection. Could kill you in some circustances.

Personally i'd research the mold in bubble information and either make bubble in the way described or just err on the side of caution and compost the moldy material in the garden.

Also ... bubble hash itself has to be dried properly to prevent molds from surfacing. If you don't dry the bubble properly you can be forming your own molds.

Salvaging moldy bud is a very unhealthy. Even BHO from moldy bud contains mold spores and spike shells and can have severely allergic properties.

Please don't give in to stoner folklore..... Toss moldy weed.
It can cause anaphalatic shock, respiratory illness inc. DEATH.

One more time: Bubble made from moldy weed is DANGEROUS.
So is OIL.

Thanks for the info Hyphae, I don't mess with the moldy weed because of the dangers. What I have was given from a friend and I figured I'd be able to find a way given by a genious here at Topia to make it useful someway.

ive used this method a few times although not with the double boiler so that helps so much!!

in my understanding freezing your leaves before this process helps seperate trichromes from the herb, i thought this was interesting, im gonna give this a try and see if my yield is improved.
