The third flush is pinning like crazy. Will post pics when they are a little bigger.
Oh yeah. The first flush produced 20.4 g cracker dry. Not sure of the second yet, but by the looks of the third pinset, it may produce like the first. Shouldn't have neglected the second flush.:eusa_doh:

Holy crap. I left it too long. Went away for the weekend and when I came back this is what I found. Spores all over the place.
I am going for flush #4. Stay tuned!!
Here are the before and after pics. The first one was taken on Thursday and the second on Sunday.

Looks great and sounds really simple. Just so I understand, when you say you take the cooked rice and fill the jars just like the PF TEC, are you mixing vermicullite and rice in a two to one ratio? And are you adding water or do you not need it with the rice already cooked? Looks great. Just want to understand better.

No. The rice is just put into the jars with no verm mixed with it. The verm is just used on the top for a contam barrier. No extra water is needed. The amount that it was cooked with gives the perfect ratio.

One thing I have noticed with this method is I have had a few jars get water in it from PC'ing them. I nocked them up anyway and birthed the cakes. They took an extra week or so to colonize and fruit but after they dried out in the fruiting chamber they fruited just as good as the other cakes.

I don't see a verm layer in your jars. Did you put some verm on top of the rice? I like to do this to provide a contam barrier. But it looks like you have used tyvek which will accomplish the same thing.
Oh, The fourth flush is on it's way. Not too many pins yet, but it is readily becoming a neglect tek! I will be going on a trip this week and will not be able to take care of it. I hope the pins will be big enough to harvest. From the last flush, it has made a spore casing. LOL
