Since Workman found they are not Tropicalis, now its Cambodgiensis Sandoze. (I grew them as Tropicalis Sandoze 03/08- see the link below)

Panaeolus Cambodgiensis Sandoze Strain Unicorn T3 Mycobag culture.
- Multispore Culture, Spores from my stock (2yrs old)
- Spores scraped in sterile water & directly into Grass seed spawn (8days)
- Sterilized (2,5hrs.) Substrate mix: Pulverized cow manure (Garden shop in NL)50%, Chopped wheat straw , straw pellets 50% (10 days)
- Very thin casing layer: Pot Flower Soil + Cocohum Mix, pasteurized
- Temperatures: spawn 25-26 Degr. Celsius, fruiting 22-23 Degr. Celsius
- Pins 9days after casing was applied

Again I have to say I am not that lucky with Panaeoli. But at least they drop spores and doesn't look too unusual.

Great job Cap'n. I see you use cocohum in your casing layer. Do you use this so that the casing layer will overlay, which from what I've heard is especially good for pans?

I use (non fertilized) cocohum all the time cause its great as a casing layer if combined with usual pot soil. It keeps the casing mix fluffy and holds a lot of moisture. I only experience overlay with Cubes and Pans, regardless of the casing mix I use.

No, sorry, I took the prints too late and most of the caps didn't drop spores sufficiently.

Another exceptional thread Captain! 5 shrooms to you!

Usually this is a good sporulating pan cyan.

Excellent work!

Do you compost the cow manure before using it?

Because pulverized cow manure from the bag
smells intensively when soaked with water... :special:
and contains high amounts of free ammonia.

Yes, right, the box & bag was black all over, but I waited too long (I was away 2 days) so all the fruits were about to 'fall over', they all turned bluish black on the foil.

No, I use it out of the bag.
And yes it does smell, but it's ok, I only use cow manure on Pans, which I don't grow that often. (Though I am actually planning to do some other species again for fresh prints.) About the ammonia- I have no probs, because I drain the water really good before spawning the bags.

Cool. Any significant difference between Sandoze and Goliaths?
