no joyvy....if you look at the larger version of the picture...those are rye grains. Some of the grains in the second set of pics under the new pin are grains that are right up against the glass so the mycellium keeps getting banged into the glass when i pick itup....the "cake" of grains shrunk so much...there's now a 1/2" gap between the middle of the cake and the glass...at the top it's probably closer to a full inch....at the bottom...it's still regular size.

Now for the question.....what to do with these? the grain that is...i was thinking of using it to spawn to some straw after i harvest the couple of mushies it has on it.

Hmmm. Hip is right. Pure grain fruiting is rare. I'd clone the fruit and try to use the grain to innoc something. Wouldn't count on it taking off but it might. Casing may be even better yet. That shrinkage means she's gettin' thirsty. Back to that fruit tho. Clone it if you can. EQ that is that aggressive would proly make a great fruiting isolate. Maybe even as mean as that one in Blue Helix's avatar...man that thing is soooo sweet! Fruiting on grain like that is definitely something that would grab my attention. I've only seen it a few times in 10+ years and those ended up being great isolates for me.

I agree with TCO, dude. Clone that sucker and use it as a culture source.

How long has it been since you inoculated that jar?

That's pretty old. No wonder its fruiting. My hat is off to you tho. That jar was definitely sterile! Musta had a high water content to slow it down that much and then fruit like that. When did the jar fill in?

I would say let it finish invitro just to see how big they get. You can always clone it after harvest. I'd still clone it simply cuz it's one tuff son of b!!!

yeah...the jar was taking up space in my incubator and the other 4 qt's contammed with wet spot. These filled in in about 14 days and just sat there. Took them out and put them on my desk..kind of forgot about them. it's been cold in the house...it started to warm up the past week or so..today it's supposed to get up to 66oF a swing from a balmy 20 of last week. but i always keep it above 55 in the apartment. guess they liked the swing in temp. it's now got 4 little pins and the one big guy...which is growing real fast! if it keeps up this rate it will be hitting the top of the jar in a couple of days.
