todays update.

Well...since it's been on my desk it's getting some wacky light. Last night it started to switch direction. Here's an updated pic. I dumped the dried out lose grain. I noticed the newer pins are growing sideways....not up....odd...

if you like invitro
it'd be worth cloning a few of the bigger pins

yeah...i thought of that.

Now say i clone this big guy..or one of the smaller big guys...
The clone would be genetically predisposed to fruit on grain?

the big guy is being picked today...it fell over yesterday and opened up today.

Question: Can i still take a print from this mushroom? The jar hasn't been opened at all...it's covered by double layer tyvek.

As far as cloning...let me get this right....i'd crack open the cap and take a chunk with my sterile scalpel. dip it in peroxide (3%) for about 5 seconds...then agar or lc.

right? Could i take a chunk from the stem?

I was going to drop the piece of stem into a jar of some grain....any suggestions? I got wbs, corn, rye, and pf cakes.

Try this too. It's a modified version of Lazlos Vanilla LC tek. Basically the same just a little weaker and it fits in a pint nicely. 300 ml water and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Organic is best imo, but any will work so long as it's real vanilla extract. This way you can cheaply try several clones with out all the work and risk of loosing grain jars. Although it wouldn't hurt to try maybe a couple of grain jars. If you do that I would recommend using the same grain that they are growing on now. Glove box or flow hood would be really good.

should have use coir for rez effect, imo.
perhaps 'rare' was misleading,
it's not 'rare' as in
never happens.
it's rare as in
few people are willing to wait
that long
to get so little
more than once.
