My plan is to run away from the city asap.  The zombies will be thickest in the city hubs.  Im heading north to upstate NY.  I have a bit of land up there waiting for me, with a stream that harbors crayfish and clean water, lots of room for camp, and then I'll focus entirely on reconnecting with the Earth...while I protect my family from outside threats of zombie attacks.  The zombies are surely coming, so I'm happy to see all of your escape plans at the ready.   :chucks:

Somewhere with long harsh winters so those suckers freeze. Maybe they'd rot like a veggie when they thawed out.

Zombies are looking for brains. Don't worry.  The majority of us,  we're safe....

The zombie apocolypse has already started.

Just take a look around you folks...

Have you noticed it yet??

people engrossed in their phone, head down, shuffling along, tapping away, not looking up to acknowledge one another or where they are walking...

The art of conversation is dying, replaced with grunts and noises.

The art of writing has taken a nose dive... text speak has made it into the English dictionary. Yes, I know language has to evolve, but I refuse to believe that text speak is the way forward. I watch kids in the same room text each other rather than speak face to face...

That is sad.

That is the real zombie apocolypse.

This is my zombie attack plan. It's an 1886 long range Winchester dangerous game rifle. Fires a .40 slug with 82 grains of powder. It will drop a raging bull elephant like a stone so I'm pretty sure it will work on zombies.

If things get up close and personal I have the 1872 Collins & Co. Bowie with a 15" blade. I can literally chop wood with that thing. Yeah, I like to rock it old school.

Don't think even this would discourage 9 year old kids from searching out Pokemon at 2am amidst the latest Pokemon go craze.....

It can happen lol.

There are many different parasites that can cause symptoms that we would call zombies lol

Luck for humans, none have been discovered just yet that infect our brains

Unfortunately, that's definitely untrue.

Well, I think a good argument could be made that certain religious could be considered a zombie mind virus...

What part is untrue?

Plenty of parasites that infect our brains (and influence our behavior). Toxoplama gondii, off the top of my head; one that infects, nearly half of the human population (or more, depending on what parasitologist you're talking to).

https://www3.nd.edu/...l/Cat_crazy.pdf <-- Good downloadable pdf article introduction to it.

But- If we're using the word "Parasitic Zombie" to refer to an entity that has the ability to enter a host and subsequently influence it's behavior, well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's closer to 'legion' the number of creatures that have the ability to do this in humans.

Before continuing though, it's necessary to update our conceptions regarding what exactly constitues the 'brain' or the bodies seat of consciousness-

The guy who originally discovered and differentiated between the Central Nervous System and the Peripheral Nervous system also coined (at the same time) what he referred to as the Enteric Nervous System; that is, the system of neurons that innervate our gut; Though, the current medical establishment was unwilling to listen to him on this latter point and only accepted the first two. It's only very recently that the 'Gut-brain connection' is being given the attention it deserves in MS scientific/medical circles.

That said; the number of parasites that can infest our gut are, a metric fuckton. And all of these have the ability to influence human behavior.

So, while there's no easily visible cordyceps type zombifying agent that we can point to with the human species; the fact is that the majority of the human population, is indeed infected with one (or more) of these silent-puppetmasters.
