smokerx you should get some nice crystals out of that for sure.And yes next time save the wax that forms on the glasses in between separations.It will dry over night,and it still contains lots of goodies.
I hope you didn't end up tossing a lot of goodies out,that would suck.

I was bored today.............So I recrystallized the remaining yellow wax/crystal as well as a bit of crystal that had a tinge of yellow to it. Here are a few pics I took.I really need to start using a tripod lol.

What prompted me to post today was your mention of Baraka and Fringe. Baraka....isn't that the most awesome piece of film ever? And Fringe...I thought I was the only one who dug that show. I'm a fringe dweller myself, and like almost everything you find out on the borders of "society".
SWIM recently received a package from Brazil with some lovely pinkish powder, and an STB tek was attempted, with only nominal returns. Today SWIM is going to re-basify the jug (originally loaded with 200 g MHRB)and follow steps as you have outlined in your thread. Be thinking positive thoughts that the elf spice fairies are happy to be coaxed out of hiding today, to bless SWIM's life with their presence.....
Keep up the good work, and keep up the posts. Your writing is just fine btw!

I did another extraction yesterday using the bark I had left.It was a little under a pound,400 grams to be exact.
I did it the same way as I did last one.STB with two 400ml naphtha pulls that was gently re-shaken a couple times before I pulled it.Baraka and an episode of Fringe killed the time in between.
20 hours later I removed the container from the freezer and collected my prize.I got apx 5.5g dry powder(shitty scale),and a little over a gram of crystal/oil mix.
I am going to recrystallize the oil/crystal mix from this batch,and some from last batch as one and see what come of it,and I am going to recrystallize the 5 grams as well.Hopefully one day this week I will get a chance.

Hello and thanks for stopping by.I actually just finished season one and two and,14 episodes of season 3 of Fringe lol.Not all in one sitting but ya,I like Fringe.Walter Bishop is way cooler the Walter White from Breaking Bad lol.
Baraka,Yes this movie is absolutely brilliant,it is one of my all time favorites and the only movie that has ever made me cry,(so what? lol).
When I watch the scene with the people in the garbage dump,especially the small children picking through the garbage looking for something to eat,it rips the shit out of my heart every time.That and Lisa Gerrard at the same time do a number on me for sure lol.

If you are into Baraka you should check out the Quatsi Trilogy if you haven't already.Koyaanisquatsi,Powaqquatsi and Naqoyquatsi,the three of them are pretty powerful films and are silent films similar to Baraka.

The first two were done in the 80,s and were far ahead of there time,the time lapse photography in the first one is still some of the greatest ever made in my humble opinion.Then again there are not many better then Ron Fricke.

A friend and myself had recently split on a kg of bark,and he wanted me to do an extraction for him.I wanted to do an A/B with it but he wanted an STB done because of how much faster it was to do.I agreed.

I told him he had to purchase the naphtha I would supply the lye which was agreed upon,I showed him the stuff he needed to get,the green can.....but sure enough he showed up with the wrong one,the red can lol.
He showed up with the Coleman brand,the stuff with the dreaded rust inhibitor added.Ouch...

After a day he said fuck it try it anyway.I told him this stuff is known to turn the product blue,and I cant recommend using it,but he said I don't care do it,so here we went.
First off I did an evaporation test with it,and to my surprise it evaporated perfectly clean,no residue what so ever.I expected an oily residue.

So I got everything ready,I did the extraction with him by my side so he could see it also.

We were a bit worried because it looked it did look blue in the measuring cup,but the pulls were yellow.I figured it was just fine when I saw that the naphtha had not turned the pull green lol.

I freeze precipitated the collection for a little over 15 hours,poured it off and was absolutely amazed,this stuff was not blue,in fact it was just as good if not better then my last STB.

Once it was dried it was the exact same product as my STB done with a naphtha that had no rust inhibitor added.

The product was later smoked by both of us,and there was absolutely no noticeable difference between my product and this one.
Here are a couple pics of the product using Coleman camp fuel,with rust inhibitor.

There is no difference in color,texture,smell or taste.And the effects are the same as well.

One could do an extraction using this fuel if they cant find any other brand,and if you are then worried about any residue that may be left over from the rust inhibitor,simply do a recrystallization using Ronsonol.This way you are not spending huge amount of cash on just Ronsonol if one cant find the Escort.
But as an STB product,I am going to say it is just fine as is.

That's a damn good STB product, barely any yellow to it. I suppose you were fastidious in your methods! Well done again, and thanks for giving us some different feedback on a product which was thought to be unreliable.

That spice looks to be *almost* A/B quality.

The only difference between this STB and my last one,beside the naphtha of course was the temperature.The water temp for the bath was a bit cooler then last time,resulting in less wax being pulled.Last time I was using pretty near boiling water and replacing that water constantly with fresh hot water during pulls to keep those temps up,this time I did not.
I also did my pulls a little different,no particular reason I did this,other then just because.
First pull was 200ml
Second pull was 400ml
Third pull was 300.ml

Well I did another extraction yesterday.I decided to do another STB,it is just so much faster.I will do an A/B one day,I am just not a fan of all the time it will take on the stove.To many boils,and too much water to reduce.
I am going to recrystallize the whole batch so it wont matter in the end.
I used apx 500g in this extraction and pulled back apx 8g light yellow and some wax of course.
The second pic is just how I collect my pulls.Each pull goes through a filter first,(in this case doubled coffee filters)this helps me out a lot because I don't have to worry if I get a little bit of bark in my baster,its gets filtered before it enters the jug.Then once I have all the pulls together if I see a piece of bark that somehow got through I run it through another into another clean jug.
So one day this week I will recrystallize this batch.And ya,I will do an A/B one day lol.

WOOT! WOOT! I've noticed y'all are quite fond of recrystallizing your spice to get those pretty white snowflake-like formations, and yes, they are beautiful and tasty and all that. But me and mine, we all agree, the full-spectrum spice that is golden or yellow is MUCH more potent than the pretty white flakes. I'm glad you had so much fun, Doc, and independently verified my full spectrum theory in this unintentional double-blind research experiment, lol!

Just so you guys know, it's possible to have it both ways. We can isolate pure N,N-DMT and then extract the "full spectrum" and mix it together or smoke it separately. director of sound pioneered the technique and I've confirmed it. All you have to do is make sure you freeze precip and have some methanol or iso on hand.

That yellow has some kick to it for sure, it's very intense smoked by itself. In general though I like my spice Pretty and Pure.

Last night was the first trip in a few weeks,probably a month.

I agree Defiance,I have been quite fond of the clean crystal myself.It is softer on my mind and body and the after glow hangs around longer then with the yellow.
The yellow trip seems to stop quite abruptly for me,not much of an after glow.The colors are different as well as there patterns.
I find the colors I see after smoking yellow are often a bit brighter,sharper and tend to move about quite a bit more rapidly.Lots of gold and bright yellow colors.

The clear crystal takes me a few seconds to register that I am about to be blasted off somewhere,there is no mistaking what is about to happen when I smoke the yellow,it is get to a bed,and fast.

The colors I seem to see while smoking clear crystal are softer,more of a pastel color,very soft and very comfortable.Pinks blues and light greens.Yellow seems to be in there as well but not as bright as when the yellow spice is smoked.Shapes and patterns move slower,and I tend to be able to make more sense out of what is happening to me when I smoke clear crystal.The trip seems to last a little bit longer with clear crystal,it is far more peaceful.My thought process seems less affected by clear.

The major difference I get is with the afterglow.
The difference between the two is great.There is not much of an after glow for me with the yellow,the trip is there,its crazy,I come down,its over.
But with the clear it tends to hang there for quite some time,up to half an hour depending on the amount I smoke.This after glow is very pleasant.It is kind of like a euphoric buzz,like coming down of MDMA.Very calming for the mind and body.

I do like the differences between the two.If you have not tried one or the other you are missing out.
