Yes the sub for this is roughly

35% horse poo, 20% coir 20% verm , 15% phalaris grass (reed canary grass) 10% worm castings.

Spawn was popcorn.

Just curious if you will or would try upping the phalaris again? to maybe 60% even, or higher?

How well did the myc break down the phalaris in your last batch?

As I said in your rep bump, WOWZ! Way to find a new substrate material.

So was that multispore or isolate?

Please let us know about potency when you get a chance... ;)

I am basically calling it an isolate, but it is only half assed. I started with multi spore to corn jars, and on a few only used one tiny drop of spore solution on top of the corn, and didn't shake the jars. When these jars showed growth, it was easy to see the sub-strains and sectors.

I picked a jar with a nice sector I liked, and then G2G'ed a single kernel of corn that had a TINY (1 mm X 1 mm) bit of that myc on it from the edge of the sector to a new corn jar. When that 2nd jar was fully colonized it became my master and I used a myc water tek to knock up other corn jars which I spawned to this sub.

One difference between this grow and the mini tubs i did was the consistency of the phalaris. For the mini tubs I chopped the grass to about 1/4 inch or smaller lengths, while for these larger tubs I powdered it up in a blender.

And I have not tried these out personally, but from feedback I get they are stronger than normal. Plus I think I have a feel for how strong a mushroom is, and these have a strong feeling. Some of them bruise inky purple BLACK. I think I may need to see for myself sooner rather than later.

So what does everyone think the odds are that I actually got one sub-strain? There is a good deal of consistency, but I can not be sure. I have some on agar now, and will be making a 'true' isolate atm, but am pretty happy with what I got now, hehe.

:eusa_clap TR, that is just amazing. I would love to start growing and come out with a flush like that. So much magic there to experience.
