Fire From Fungi

Ray Mears uses shavings of Tinder Fungus (Fomes fomentarius) to catch a spark
from a flint/iron pyrite combination then adds King Alfred's Cake (Daldinia concentrica)
to act as a charcoal brickette substitute and finally dried bracken to get the flames going.

Music synchronized with living fungus mycelium. Green fluorescent protein lights up the DNA as the nuclei flow in pulses through the mycelium. Membranes are fluorescently stained red.
