after 1 minimal acetone rinse

am i missing something - is there an option to upload many pix via one click - like holding ctrl or dragging a box around 10 then clicking upload - instead of individually - also automatic insertion of pix - im doing it mostly manually here and mycotopia is the only forum i have to upload pix to - i use photobucket for all other sites - most often including my own forum.

Wow those are puuuurrrrrrdy!

And yes, the policies with photos are crazy here, especially with how far some mods take the rule. I'm fine when they remove the direct image from myc and just have the link instead, but I've seen some mods remove the images+links. Sucks sometimes :(
Other mods do a great job however and will upload the pictures here for some users .:eusa_clap For them.
All in all, I just upload my pics and don't complain, it does guarantee that the image will stay. You can choose several images at a time to upload (I think 10 at a time?) and upload them all with one click, instead of one at a time.

phlux, you can upload 10 pics at a time with the photo manager. to insert the photos in your post, use the little paperclip icon at the top of the posting box - it lists all the photos you've uploaded and will automatically embed a thumbnail for that photo wherever you want it in your post.

the picture policy here simply is for the preservation of information. it's not that hard and it rubs me the wrong way when people complain about it. if you're having trouble with uploading photos, just ask a mod for help and we'd be glad to assist.

BTW thanks as always for sharing your amazing photos with us :bow:

hrmm for those -

i think 2 things are required - solvent dryness and speed of mixing

first xylene pulls were done on a stb solution - that was then dried with anhydrous magnesium suphate - once it was dried it was poured thru a filter with more anhydrous magnesium suphate and then some acetone was dried and saturated with fumaric acid then filtered.

the now dry xylene was then placed into a pyrex bowl thing - and the dry fasa was added - it was all just poured in at once - and not stirred or anything.

if the solution is stirred all the fumarates fall out fast but they are very impure with no xtal structure - if the fasa is added slowly or its not stirred - u get nice xtals

i would say for the best xtals possible - a sep funnel should be set up as a slow addition funnel - dripping 1 drop or less per second - onto the glass from a low height on a slope so the solvents mix very very slowly.

or and iv suggested this somewhere before - an H or U (i can see this being easy to harvest from old big cfl light bulbs - im just very lazy) shaped peice of glass with a filter and stopper in the middle of the peice - 1 solvent on either side - then the stopper is removed to allow slow mixture of the solvents thru the filter - perhaps different xtals may even collect on the different sides of the filter.
