Well someone posted a question and I replied and showed some other images of buffalos and it appears it was deleted so I will explain.
In thailand there are approximately 65 million water buffalo called Quai (Bubalus bubalis). There are two types, gray and pink. the gray are born very hairy and brown and turn to gray in a short time. The other are completely Pink. In fact, one out of every ten buffalo in Thailand are pink.
Two photos, one of a group giving me the eye as they do every day I visit with them looking for cubes and samuiensis. This field also is home to thousands of Hypholoma species and scattered Panaeolus antillarums, all usually growing at different times and sometimes the pans and cubes and samuiensis are all at the same time. The samuiensis fruit about three times in a one month period then disappear and reappear a month to month and a half later during monsoon season after most of the water resettles into the rice paddies, no longer used for rice in this particular field which every year, a new home is built.

Hey John, is that young one going to turn pink or does that change come with age? Nice photo
Hi, No the buffalo are birn either Pink or Gray or brown and some of the latter brown eventually become gray. Here is a baby brown one I already accidentally akreadyoosted abive that will change to a gray color afer a month or two but the pink one will stay pink from the time of his birth. This is one of my favorite images of two baby buffalos, same mama but different colors. I cropped this from an image that is 2200 x 2800 pixels so you get the close-up of the two kids ine gray and one pink.
